Hello everyone,

I picked up IL-2:FB about 2 weeks ago (my first flight sim), and I really like it--aside from the fact that I can't play online of course (timeout problem, but I will cross that bridge when I really want to play online). http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anyway, I tried to take some screenshots last night to show a friend, so I used the 'print screen' button. Is this how one is to take screenshots? I ask because I can't seem to locate them.

And second, the game says that there are 20 new single missions; however, mine only has a total of 14. Will others be unlocked when I complete at least one?

By the way, I shot down my first few fighters last night (almost one per single mission)! Woo hoooo.....

Of course, according to my wife, I am way too old to be enjoying a game this much. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

welcome. to see the screenshots...open your graphics program on your computer then goto Open file and look in the directory for IL-2FB. the screenshots are titled with the name "grab0, grab1, etc." open the grab files in your graphics program. To send the pics over the net you need to "save as" in the ".jpg" format (which you may know already).

The screenshots are in your Forgotten Battles folder (typically C:/Program Files/Ubi Soft/IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles ) in TGA format. They are called "grab0000", "grab0001" etc, depending on how many you take.

As for the single missions, I don't know the answer I'm afraid, except that you don't have to unlock any - maybe someone else can help you locate the others?

Hi,

lots of people use fraps, search google, but I often just use the print screen button then paste it into photoshop (or whatever you use)

Theres an program called IL2 Manager. I think you can get it from Check Six, I can't seem to find a working download right now. You can set it up to convert your screen shots into jpg's and delete the large tga files.

As WOLFMondo says IL2 Manager converts grabs to JPG's. It can be set up to do it automatically. IL2 Manager also has a few other good features such as being able to tweak the mission parameters (eg length, intensity, AI intelligence - quite good if you are new to IL2 like me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif)

Good luck with a great game!!

Terminal--

Welcome to the community and this crazy game.

One note about screenshots is that the auto-naming/numbering restarts per session. So if you fly three missions before quitting out and take 7 pics using Print Screen, and then come back tomorrow and start the game again and take 3 pics, you will have overwrote the first three of the original 7. So basically, don't forget to change the names of your screenies to something meaningful as soon as you Quit the game.

At least I *think* this is what happens....

Thanks everyone. I will check them out when I get home and see what kind of snapshots I got. I think I may have overwritten a few of them then.

About the missions, and such.

There was more listed on the box than what was included. The game addon was released good enough "as is" . . . for the moment. The patch that is coming soon (two weeks from what I hear) will finish the game up for us. From then on, I'm betting we will have to live with it as it is. The developer is moving on to the BoB sim, and working with co-developers on the upcoming Pacific Fighters sim that will use basically the same engine as FB. . . except that carrier landings will be possible.
