When the first panel is complete, we'll get together. Right now, all I have is bags full of parts http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm still trying to find a small stencil for the lettering. The only thing I can find is 1/2 letters with less-than-manly fonts.

The plasma2 is a nice bit of kit. 16 axis, 60 buttons, 4 hats, and some other junk. Also, it has a hardware jitter-filter so crappy pots act smooooth. Gotta love that.

I porked a piece of plexi last night, so I tried etching some letters and side-lighting it... it looks freaking cool. I can't wait to get one of these panels finished http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Almost forgot...
I'm looking for SPST center off, momentary toggles (minis!!!). They are $4.50+ normally. I'll be needing 50, so I'm REALLY looking to score good deal. I can't believe I forgot to bid on that lot of 100 on ebay.

I'm also going to need some low-current momentary contact rockers, preferebly in Red, but I don't know how many yet.

Franzen: yeah. I'm building a generic pit. When its finished, I want to try my hand at replicating a P40 pit.

Hey Baldie, ever check out All Electronics?

They seemed to have a ton of weird little electronic gadgets and switches and such. They may have what you need.

edit: I think All has a few diffent rocker tuggles, some red, some lighted, etc.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Also the SPST mini toggle is center off? Not on-none-off but on-off-none. As for the rockers, what size, panel or subpanel mount, on-off-on or on-off or on-on?

I got a big book with a load of switches and I don't want to lead you wrong.

Typo:

SPDT momentary toggle. Center is off, up/down is spring-loaded.

Rockers: dunnot yet. I may not need any. I'm still designing most of it.

Okay, so the link won't work (And I've still not figured out how to put a sig on yadayadayada) follow the link to the home page from the duff link. Then the link at left to FONTS (under links) and from there under typography, there's a link to STENCIL FONTS, that's the one you want.

I just found the switches I need at a price that meets my budget. I appreciate you looking though... that an excellent price for those, especially if they are threaded (most of the cheaper ones aren't threaded and can't be mounted to a flat surface).

As for selling plans: I don't have any. I built the akers-barnes cockpit and I'm just adding stuff to it.

I'm going to be putting together a website soon that'll help other cockpit builders avoid all the common pitfalls, while explaining how to do some things that most people don't know (soldering and basic wood-working). Hopefully, it will catch on and others will contibute to the content http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Oops, forgot to mention I have those plans as well. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif Anyways, thats good to hear about the site that may just be what I need. I plan on doing some extensive modifications to the original(but keeping the design). Im envisioning a closed canopy(to leave the world out http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif.)a little cockpit light to help with the keyboard, and maybe some cheap posterboard to apply as panels to resemble a Hurricane pit. Or maybe Im just crazy. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif
