Greetings all.

I have two video files that I think would be of interest to most people on this forum. They certainly are different anyway, not the typical Mustangs and such.

The first depicts IAR80's.

Yes thats right IAR80's.
This is the only footage I have ever seen of these planes. They aren't doing anything fancy in the clip. Taxi - takeoff - flypast - halfroll, things like that. Still interesting though. The file is about 22meg at the best quality I have, and runs for about 1:15. Quality is kind of poor, but the best I have.

The second file is even more interesting. It depicts a joint Finnish/German bomber raid on Soviet positions and is of Finnish origin. This file is 147 meg and runs for about 8.5 minutes. Quality is pretty good considering what the footage has gone through, and I have cleaned it up as best as I can.

Planes depicted in it are as follows:

Finnish

Captured Soviet SB bombers.
Blenheims.
Ju88.
Bf109 with and without 20mm gunpods.

German

Fw190
Stuka including one with 37mm gunpods.

There is one particularly interesting sequence shot from within a Finnish plane (I believe) where the aircraft commander/pilot passes a note to the radio operator through a 'tube'. The radio operator reads it and sends a message to a ground base via a keypad (like a telegraph) NOT voice. I have read that German bombers during the Battle or Britain could not communicate to their escorts via voice. Anyway I find it interesting and think other will too.

I can only setup an ftp site, and then only temporarily. Pretty crummy way to distribute the files, so I'm hoping someone else can donate some space to that others here can see the clips.

In about two weeks, after I finish posting other things I have promised, I shall be posting these two files to alt.binaries.multimedia.aviation

Anyway thats it for what its worth.

Ciao!

The Finnish vid gets to about 30secs, then the player shuts down, or the file simply stops playing. Tried it in Media Player 9, Real Player, WinAmp, BS Player and it did the same in all of them.

whit ye looking at, ya big jessie?!?!

The Finnish vid should be about 140 meg. I am resending it. Don't bother with downloading it till it finishes (no pun intended http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Will post again when it is done.
