Just wondering if a torpedoed tanker will blow up and blaze like a fireworks display in comparison to let's say a Liner or large fishing vessel in SHIII? After all, Tankers are the ones that put up the BIG SHOW http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif

It has been stated that different ships will behave differently with different damage applied to them. It's somewhere in the Q&A.

Anyway, I think that tankers will have their own 'special' different http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif behaviour. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

There was a ship, a tanker one at that, that was hit during World War 2 by a torpedo i believe? the crew very wisely decided to get the heck away from her but after drifting around for a day or two they found her again and decided to try to put out the fires out and sail her back to port.

Now, mainly i recall this from a film, but i also seem to think it actually happened to, all very hazy though, just raised it so that someone else could fill in the blanks. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I've read that story as well, and as far as I know it's a true story. The abandoned ship sailed in a huge circle and came right back to the survivors in the water, and they reboarded and managed to sail her to port. The ship was torpedoed again and sunk a year or so later.

Can't remember the name, though.
