Absolutely no complaints here. I've flown most of the new aircraft, and I must say, I really like it. The new additions are great, the sound is better (I think), I have no complaints.

Now, I don't know how each individual model of each individual A/C flew or what all of the itty-bitty nuances of the UBS MG, etc, etc, etc. And frankly, I don't care all that much. It's as close to realism as I'm ever going to get, and if the P-38 isn't EXACTLY how it flew in 1945, so what? I like realism as much as the next guy, but I understand the limitations of the coding and the hardware.

And speaking of the P-38...I read earlier today someone really putting the 38 down. This was before I got it, and I was looking forward to flying it; reading all of the posters negative comments bummed me out. But as it turns out, I don't see any of the problems that he saw. (Guns shaking the cockpit like crazy, etc. They work fine for me.)

Plus, Oleg and Co is going to produce a free addon, right? I mean, how great is that?! More planes to fly and free fixes to any bugs. I'm in heaven. So, I say a big fat thank you (bolshoi spaceeba!) to Oleg and Co. Keep up the outstanding work!

I agree.

I am liking this sim more and more. This was a huge addon - with some great aircraft.

Imagine, we still have a patch with the B25 in the works among others :)

Great sim - and nice job by Oleg and team.

I got and installed AEP today. No offline American, British or Japanese campaigns. Pretty disappointed as I play offline. On the box it says "7 immersive campaigns using forgotten battle maps" which gives the impression of being able to escort waves of B-17 in a P-51, but unless I'm missing something that is not the case. Looks like the game is geared towards online play...sigh. Otherwise the game is beautiful. Setup a quick mission P-38's vs Zeros and I'll be dammed if I wasn't impressed. Could have sworn I saw a Zero do some of the tighest manuvers! For me however the lack of offline for the Americans, Brit and Japanese is a huge letdown. Sorta reminds me of Anzio-we were expecting a wildcat but got a beached whale.

I haven't gotten mine yet but my sentiments may be just like your's. I only fly offline, I have a very slow modem connection, but I'm glad to here the rest is positive. I've never been too demanding about a/c characteristics as long as they feel acceptable in my experience.

It looks like offline players will have to wait till:

1) Patch/download released that will add offline dynamic campaign for Americans/Brits/Japanese.

2) Buy another expansion pack that will add campaigns.

One can only wonder at what could be....I just created a quick mission with 4 P-51's escorting 12 B-17's. Opposing them were 4 FW190A8's, 4 FW190A9's, 4 Me110's and 4 ME109's.

AEP could have been a contender to finally knock out European Air War. Imagine waves of B-17's in box formation, flak bursting all around and fighters dueling it out.

May be time to dig into the mission editor.

You can dig into the mission editor, then upload them to Mudmovers. It is not for me, but I'll happily download them. :)

AEP was never planned to give the 8th Air Force or RAF Bomber Command campaign like EAW. Oleg left that to Luthier and Starshoy with their "Battle Over Europe" add-on (at least the USAAF side of it). You'll have to shell out moola for that if you want to get the waves of B-17s, or like you said make (or wait for someone to make) an unofficial campaign. Ditto for the Japanese campaign in the upcoming Pacific add-on.

It was a screwjob scam... Offer us the P38, Spits , etc for $30...then we discover we need to fork out anothr $30 to the ASSOSIATES(Business partners of Oleg) for the Battle over Europe "product" to use them in their main theater of operations, Western Europe... $60 total!!! (Sound like a Microsoft-level Scr#wing to anyone????)

Money Corrupts...as does Greed. I say it has done so to Oleg and his team and associates...

Feckin whinin and crying like a couple of little girls... like somebody did something to you. Use what you have and have fun..it isnt hard to do. If you dont want to spend the money then STHU and go somewhere else... fly another sim... Oh yeah... thats right... THERE AINT ONE!!! Not as good as this one. Buncha spoiled putzes all of ye!!

The thing has issues but no show stoppers for me. If I never saw another patch I would feel I got my moneys worth......... I cant wait for UD to release his upgraded MG...

And me. You can still get EAW for $9.99 if you have to have lots of B-17s you know.

Can't see tracers in a track? Boo bloody hoo. Poor reason not to play a game.

No ETO campaigns? Make your own.

I know of no combat flight game that gives so much for so low a price. And when you consider you get the Gold pack for about the price only $10.00 more than what IL2 FB cost when NEW, IIRC, that is one hell of a bargin.

Hey, I've paid it and will continue to pay it for a sim this immersive. There's nothing else out there to compare to it. So it is the way it is. Lovin'it! S!

I am one of those ppl that believes Oleg shows bias towards Russian aircraft...(he is afterall Russian & besides previous sims made by other ppl have shown bias too so it aint no big deal really)... HOWEVER!!!! even tho I think this I still think IL2FB & AEP are awesome! and I find all this *****ing & moaning downright stupid. Here I am a person that thinks Oleg has bias & I think they IL2FB & AEP are both fantastic! If I, a person that doesnt think Oleg is the god of the known universe can love IL2FB/AEP then...then...then..well... all these whiners & moaners can go straight to hell! Crimeny! It isnt even a day old yet! Jeez! Some of the whiners & complainers havent even played it yet! How f'ing stupid is that?

Right On Gib!!! You see those add ons for CFS1,2 &3? They go for the same price as the AEP. I got ONE.... back when I was flying CFS.... I didnt bother with Pearl Harbor...or Midway...... or the Med one...Im talking the Abacus things...and they sucked anyway... the scenery wasnt the same...... At least with the one i DID get there were missions.... but like i said the skins werent all that and the scenery wa worse than the stock scenery. We have a good product and with the promised add ons it will all balance out. I get burnt because this cr@p comes from people who SHOULD know better considering how long theyve been around. Ive NEVER seen the level of support we have gotten over the years ive been here... for IL2 OR FB. I can wait.... I know it will only get better. And it aint too shabby now....;)

I'm with Gib and Bearcat. Man, I'm singing praise and everyone jumps on my post to complain. To each his own I guess. I think it's great. Much better than any other sim in any other community. Shouldn't let the little things get you down...

Ok this looks like a nice spot to pitch the tent for awhile [pounds tent stakes in the ground]. Looks like it's mostly happy campers around here. Hey Gib, Bearcat, ArcadeAce come on over for some homemade deer sausage after I get the fire going. AEP hasn't arrived in the mail yet so there's not much to do.
