S! guys.

Set up a QMB mission again. This time I'm riding the (yes, noob plane again http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) Ki 84c.

All 8 of us against 8 of average P-51D 20 NA Mustang. The result: 7 of them shot down while I lost 5 of my wingmen. I scored 6 Ponies blew out of the sky while my number two got one (He really kept his words to watch my back). All settings was still the same with my previous track (La7 vs Bf109 G10 (4v4)).

After reviewing the track I got an idea to make a fictional story (though I still expect you will be interested in viewing my track and evaluate my performance), so here it goes:

Japan Home Defense 1945

During early days in August 1945, in a final effort to stop American bombers from dropping their deadly payload into Japanese cities, a flight of 8 Ki-84c Hayates took off in a search and destroy mission.

After 20 minutes they received a radio call from ground observers reporting that they spotted enemy fighters roaming high above Tokyo so they decided to abort their previous mission to intercept the fighters. It was later clear that the Mustangs were ordered to perform fighter sweep to clear the way for the bombers.

The leader of the Hayate flight ordered his men to follow him to gain some more height before attacking the enemies, but it was a little bit too late since the enemies already appeared some 5 kms from where the Hayates were.

Having no choice, he ordered his men to attack, though his second flight apparently disobeyed his order to follow him and started rushing out to the enemies by their own initiative.

Then the battle took place. High above the coast of Japan, 16 planes fighting and exchanging bullets and cannon rounds. Everyone was eager to shot down the enemy. Shortly thereafter, debris and flaming plane wrecks started to fall from the sky.

Down there on the sea, there were patrol boats from both sides that fired their AA guns on each of their own enemy while they also having engagement between themself.

The result was a small victory for Japan. 7 Mustangs shot down against 5 of the Hayates. But it was a short lived victory since Japan can no longer replace its lost fighters and pilots while the American will return to the sky the next day with the same or even bigger numbers.

Ahem http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif...

Well, in the track that I recorded, you'll see that I "spared" the last Mustang so that he become the sole survivor to tell the story to the American (that's actually a sweet justification to hide the fact about running out of ammo to shot him down http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif).

Anyone interested?

Regards.

Great story, those AA were boring in RL just as in game.
