Help!! I just can't seem to get a profile working that has the rear/bomber gunners actually moving or firing. I can switch to gunner positions ok but then (usually) nothing. One of my profiles did allow me to move the gun with the mouse and fire with Pinkie+Trigger, but only intermittently, and that's as close as I've got.
BTW using latest Saitek drivers.

Plz, plz plz, any suggestions before I tear the rest of my hair out!

Cheers!

For the beginning don't map any change position for the crew , use defaults , such as key C and mouse. Personally I find it very difficult to operate that mouse on the throttle. Check if the defaults are working , only then try to assign some controls to it.

I reset all my X45 controls to a profile and removed the controller ids from the FB controls menu. I assigned keys to the functions I wanted and set them up accordingly in the X$% & MSFFB software. Since i very rarely use gunner positions or bobmers (multi engined anyway..) I really dont need the gunner positions.... good luck... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Ah, disappointing guys. I am trying to get most controls off the keyboard cos I tend to sit here in the dark (I find that it helps the TrackIR). I don't use the gunners too much but do like the He111, and for that need to switch to the bomb-aimer. Agreed on the throttle mouse, that thing's a menace. I've currently cleared all programming from it as it had a mind of it's own. Last time I tried it I used it for mixture control but it decided to do random FOV changes instead.
Back to the C key and mouse then - perhaps I'll get some luminous paint for them(!).

Cheers!

Bearcat I've just re-read that. If I get what you're saying you've cleaned out the key allocations in the FB control screen. How does that work? I couldn't get some commands to work on the X45 until I'd assigned them keys etc in FB. I know that you still use your FFB as well as the X45 stick but I'm obviously missing a trick here.
A lot of the set-up for hardware goes over my head so any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi there.

With the new drivers, it should be possible for you to set the POV hat as mouse-emulator under a different mode or by using the pinky.
Works pretty well for me, although i don't have track-ir so mouse emulation is my default setting on POV 1. I find that I have to set the mouse-fire button on my throttle cos having the mouse-look and fire on the joystick feels somehow awkward in gunner position.

step by step (since you asked for any help available!)-
keep "C" as the change pos button in FB and map it in the X45 profile editor to the button you choose. Change one of the buttons to mouse-fire in FB (leave it UNASSIGNED in the profile editor). change one of the POV hats to "mouse" under the mode/pinky you find appropriate and that should do it.

Hope that helps.
