View Full Version : u-boots/torpedo boats fire like a machine gun ?

I know it is a small issue for a flightsim, but i wanted to create a small Malta semi-historical campaign for friends, and in that idea i tested the u-boot (type VII) models a bit for convoy escort missions and whatnot.
But, as soon as it got in range, it fired torpedoes almost non-stop on the convoy. I'm talking about launching something like 10 torpedos in 2 minutes. And then, proceeding to do the same until every single ship in the convoy was either sunk or out of range.

This is too bad, it destroys any credibility for the u-boot. I know it's only a ship, but would it be possible to have a reasonable rate of fire applied to it so that it doesn't look like it is firing its torpedoes on semi-auto mode ? I noticed that the same applies to the small italian torpedo boat, and i assume it also works for every torpedo-launching device in the game.

Secondly, i noticed that the surfaced u-boot didn't fire any torpedoes at all, which is not accurate either.

I realise those are minor points for a flight sim, and are probably the result of some engine limitation, but i can always give it a try, can't i ? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Edit : i forgot to say, this happens in AEP 2.0, although it probably happens on other versions too.
