This is a semi-historical eight mission mini campaign for IL2 FB relating to the use of catapult launched Sea Hurricane aircraft. I got interested in finding out more after seeing a thread at the Ubi FB forums and thought it might make a fun campaign These aircraft were catapulted from the decks of specially equipped merchant ships. As there was no way to land the plane after the flight, one had to bale out or ditch the aircraft and be picked up by the convoy. I suggest that you check out this website for more information regarding these unique aircraft:

Bump to this! Only played the first mission so far, but it seems well-designed, and challenging! Great Sea Hurri skin as well! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

What always got me about the whole Sea Hurricane concept is that any salvor with enough money could do the world (and, let's face it, the hardcore sim community!) a real favour and raise all these once-used Hurris from the ice-cold depths of the Barents sea and get them restored. Assuming the planes were carefully ditched, hell, the warbird restorers are working on far more battered wrecks than these. Someone go and hire a boat /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

They were used on the Russian convoys, right? I'm sure I read that somewhere...

First mission: shoot down a Pe-8 (simulating FW200 condor) with your puny little Hurricane mkI! I did it once in the QMB with lots o' luck! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Very daring.

shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again.

I'm glad folks are enjoying the campaign. Thanks as well to Pacettid and DomB for the great skins that I used for the campaign.(Also to the author of the Hurricat thread that got me interested in this topic)
I'm working on a Stuka campaign now. I'd be curious to know what other kinds of scenarios the community might be interested in. I'm looking forward to the patch to start working with some new aircraft.

If you're looking for campaign ideas, I for one would love any of these:

Nightfighter (either Hurri IIc or Bf109/Fw109 Wilde Sau)
Torpedo bomber (IL2T)
BoB
SCW

Any of those would make my day http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I've got about 8 missions of a BoB campaign completed. Its been sitting on the shelf for a while but perhaps I'll get it underway again.

Nice,

I recall that someone had a pretty well developed Condor model in the works.

Um..was the first mission supposed to be really hard? I read all your guys posts like you barely made it or something, I just came in at a 6 o'clock high and pounded away at one of the wings. Came right off.
