Is it me or are the AI 110s still waaay too manueverable? Also several twin engine fighter bombers suffer the same issue. I setup an engagement of vet 110s against me and 3 vet ai in Hurri's (tried the same scenario in every Hurri model) Hurri's were OUTMANEUVERED BY 110s! Even 109s shoud be outmaneuvered at low speed/alt by Hurris.

I myself could barely hold a turn with a 110 with flaps down. Not to mention AI gunners fire while inverted and pulling heavy G's (seemed adjusted in FB, but seems back in AEP)

Love this game, had it since the first version, but this has always tweaked me a bit. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

AI planes are good hey? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I heard the Fb110 was a fairly good turning plane but its dogfight problem was a very poor roll rate. But still, out-turn a Hurricane? hmmm.

I ate 110s for breakfast in Extreme_One's RAF campaign. Which version were you flying against?

You can own Bf110s in a Hurri. Just don't try climbing or diving with them, and try and stay outside in a turnfight so you don't present a target to the rear gunner.

I've been simming for 7 years, and am a military aviation enthusiast. I do understand the strengths/weaknesses of these aircraft. I was in a level turn with a 110c, whilst flying a Hurri IIb, I had flaps deployed, about 60% fuel, and watched as he maintained the turn and I was getting stall indications (buffeting noise). I had to go into a diving turn to hold/increase my turn radius, he went negative G and did some funky roles while the AI gunner zapped my engine.

I sat quietly like this http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif, for several seconds.

Watch your airspeed! If you had full flaps deployed then you'd be in trouble, the landing flaps are like barn doors on the Hurricane and when fully deployed are just a high drag device. They're not of much benefit in a combat situation. It's very easy to stall out if you're trying to turn with them extended!

There is some benefit to juggling the flaps in between the stops in a tight turn but in general it's more bother than it's worth, you shouldn't need them to out turn a Bf110C.

The Hurri responds well to using rudder to tighten turns.

You definitely should not be using full landing flaps in a turn. But you're right about the unbelievable antics the AI can pull. I suppose they need some kind of advantage to compensate for our advantage in smarts. It really gets me sometimes too, but in all I've never seen such good AI as in FB.

Thanks, now recall the early spits/hurris only had 2 flap positions, full up/full down http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. I will try using the rudder more as well.

I fly German planes mostly, so my tips and tricks on the allied rigs are a little sparse.

But still, inverted AI gunnery? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
