One of the (admittedly few) things that has disappointed me about the FB series has been the poor depiction of turning ships. When they head on a different course they actually move side ways for a while before pivoting around their centre line until they are on the new heading.
FB is the only sim I have seen that does not depict the normal curving turns of water craft.
Since the original IL-2 was set in a primarily "dry" theatre of war this was not much of a problem but as PF will involve a lot of anti-shipping work the wierd ship movement will work against the real world feel that FB strives for.
Imagine making a dive bombing run on a carrier and it suddenly starts moving side ways. You know that didn't happen in real life.

Using lots of little waypoints in a curve helps out a lot with this.
