Yes the trailer is amazing, lots of food for thought. I'm gonna go and listen to the Exile soundtrack as Jack Wall is doing the music for Revelation as well, and the music on Exile is amazing.

The trailer looked great, and I'm sure the music will be awesome. I'm hopeing for at least a 360 degree view like Exile. Does anyone know if will be real time rendered like Uru?

One thing I noticed at the bottom of the official site, it mentions Mac/PC CDROM. It will be nice to have our Mac friends back with us for the adventure.

Sometimes in the fall is something that is being put about by a lot of sites reporting the launch of the Myst Revelation site.

From IGN Game site:

quote:
April 05, 2004 - Ubisoft announced today they will release the newest title in the best-selling Myst franchise, Myst IV Relevation, this fall. This should be sweet news for all you Myst fans. Not only do you get a bunch of new puzzles set in the ancient civilization of D'ni, but you don't even have to wait that long for it.

"We are excited to announce Myst IV Revelation and proud that it comes from our own Ubisoft Montreal studios," said Lauren Detoc, president of Ubisoft Inc.

"The game is simply a 'must-have' for Myst fans and will also appeal to new players. The storyline is very suspenseful, the puzzles are compelling, and the music, produced by Jack Wall in partnership with Peter Gabriel, will create an unparalleled experience."

The story in Myst IV Revelation will center on a family torn apart by the disappearance of a young girl. The game will launch for the PC and Mac, with possible ports heading over to select consoles.

Look fort Myst IV Revelation to land on store shelves sometime this fall. Until then, check out the screenshots on the media page.

The screenshots there showing are the same ones we've seen.

And as the release date is currently projected for September this year it could come out on the 11th anniversary of the release of Myst by Broderbund and Cyan. And that's also the anniversary of when I first encountered Myst. I remember playing it over the Christmas holidays with a couple of good friends.

Yes! If it is coming out in september this could mean I won't have to pay for it! My birthday is in September and this would make the best Birthday present! (my B-Day is the 21st [along with Stephen King])

I'm sooo excited about Myst IV! I've played all the others and loved them. Uru was really great, and I had fun participating in the online game. It was the first time I'd ever played games online with other people, especially a game like Myst. I just completed the main mission in the X-pack, and I'm glad to hear there's more coming!

I heard that it might be on DVD... in which case, I'm gonna need to get a DVD drive for my compy... I can't believe my computer didn't have it, but Dell didn't offer it the week I bought my computer, not with my model at least. Anyways, Myst is worth it.

Here's hoping for another great addition to our Myst Collections!!!
I would like to see it in realtime 3D, with optional Zip mode, if possible.

Looks gorgeous, looking forward to it.

Just one request: please, a bit more substance to the puzzles than was in Exile - a game this beautiful deserves gameplay that will require us to spend the time savouring it.

Phen1
04-09-2004, 01:19 AM
Amen to that, Zenguy. Exile was beautiful, but some of the puzzles just weren't the same. They were too much like puzzles all thrown together to make a game, and they didn't always have much to do with the storyline. Riven (my favorite) was like one big puzzle that was all part of the story: the puzzle was the story. I enjoyed that a lot better than Exile. I hope they improve on that.

According to Ubi, it will be DVD-ROM ONLY.

Darn. I'd better start arranging to get a DVD-ROM drive also... So, I suppose that means it will be bigger than Exile, right? Otherwise they'd put it on CD too, right? I'm so excited! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
