Some hardware mods I'm planning to do:

Emergency power quick-switch...
1 Three-way switch for:
1. normal throttle/pitch operation.
2. Full chop of throttle/ pitch.
3. Balls-out throttle and 90% pitch setting.

Boost/ ****** quick-switch...
1 Three-way switch for:
1. normal throttle/pitch operation.
2. +/- 10% throttle
3. +/- 20% throttle

1 Momentary switch for:
Boost/****** operation. (only works when button is held).

Other things...
Flaps mapped to axis with
1 Rotary
1 Selector switch for 4 settings plus over-ride (over ride positions enables slider)
1 momentary switch for emergency full-flaps position.

Thoughts?

I'm also going to replace my trim potentiometers with 10-turn precision pots.

I think I'm going to replace all other potentiometers with LVDTs since hall-effect sensors are still $46 per unit AND LVDTs can be homebuilt for next to nothing ( http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/lvdts.htm ).

You'll eventually look like this: http://members.cox.net/martin1jam/index.htm

Thanks for that link... lots of good information there.

Eventually my setup will be similar, but since I'm primarily a prop-head, I don't think i'll need that level of complexity.

I agree BaldieJr. I simply use ergonomic platforms for my CH controllers and my wireless mouse and keyboard. (I have pics if interested) It works really well for me and I don't have to be an electrical engineer to do it. They're completely configurable to ANY position and removable if needed.

I would definitely be interested to see some pics as progress is undergone.

I think I saw a pic of your setup last week. The multi-movable bracket thingies right? Quite slick, but kind of pricey!

I'm going to post pics when my setup is complete. That may be a few more months away though, at the current rate.
