Hi all,

Followed the book with my friends to fly online coop camp. Connected to the net, started server via multiplayer menu, exchanged IP adresses and had other connect to the server with IP.
It gives TIMEOUT everytime!

Did anybody succesfully use this feature?

Help appriciated, Trebby.

BTW I can play online via hyperlobby without problem. Gotta be possible to connect directly tough...

No. Nothing to do with direct connect. My squadmates and I play that way almost daily here lately. Some of us were having the same problem, but some were not. We all decided to install the beta sound dll that Oleg released and we haven't had another problem with timeout(s). You should be able to find it at the top of one of these forum(s) links. I suggest that anyone wanting to connect with you, and yourself, use it. Good luck! S!

Quazimotto,

put in the sound.dll, unfortunately no improvement...still TIMEOUT after connect attempt.

(by the way, no timeout if I join Hyperlobby session, for instance virtualpilots1. I want to connect directly though, without 3rd party if possible)

So you actually use this direct-connect-via-IP method succesfully? Without dedicated server software or something?
Did as written in the manual, is manual wrong?

Thanks for feedback, Trebby

It works fine, but if you're running a firewall or through a router you'll need to do some port forwarding. IL2/FB uses port 21000.
