I know the pics posted in the weekly update are beta, but, in all the carrier landing pics I didn't see a landing signal officer (LSO). He was the key guy in landing on a carrier and no one in their right mind would attempt a landing without an LSO. Will he be modelled in PF? If not, what guidance will we have?

My understanding is that the Japanese carriers did not have LSOs instead they had a system of landing lights. (Look just below the flight deck on the carriers, the lights are there.) As to weather or not those lights or LSOs on US ships will be implemented, I have no clue.

The Blacksheep have flown diciplined carrier operations on line in CFS2 for 3 years. Their is no LSO on line in CFS2, only off-line training missions and campaigns. We'll be able to manage without him, but it would be nice to have one if they can do it without a "dude in a window" covering up a third of the display.

whe need essential people like LSO's
and also the deck jokeys that give you the take off signal!

Also for landbased operations a take off officer using flares or flag signals like they did on take off and landings would greatly enhance realism and athmospere, aside from contributing some help finaly a ground crew member directing you to your parking spot with signal signs would really give you the feeling of having completed your mission!
