Hey,

i got a problem with the new patch, everytime i try to enter mp it starts downloading some "usergenerated tracks"
this download doesnt end and i can`t play mp without it beeing done, I let it downoad for over one hour and all it did was to crash my game in the end.
Others told me that the download only took them 1-2 minutes, so i guess there is some sort of a problem with it.

Do you have any suggestions what to do to solve this problem?

I had the same issue on PC (Steam version).
After verifying game files I can get past the downloading UGC and play BUT now the game freezes and stops responding when I leave an MP session.

Single player is fine but MP crashes only when leaving.

Hi iBlubbil,

I saw that yesterday on Twitch, I emailed the team to try to find what's happening. At the moment, we can't reproduce but I'll get back to you soon with questions.

@M4DDMONKEY: if you can share your crash dumps that are in Documents\TrialsFusion\SavedGames, that would be useful.

Cheers,

I submitted a support ticket with the full dmp file. Is there anything else I should add to that?

Ticket 02184921

Since yesterday I reinstalled Uplay and Trials Fusion double checked all port forwarding and windows firewall.

I honestly don't know exactly what fixed it but it's working now and I have 74 favorites if that helps.

I think I also have a similar problem ever since the patch. It still happens to me even after I removed all tracks from my favorites and what happens to me is whenever I go to online multiplayer it just sits at the loading screen forever. No crash, no nothing. I can't back out of the loading either so I just have to force quit the game to get out of it. I tried uninstalling and it did work at first but then when I woke up in the morning today it wasn't working again. Not sure what it could be

The exact same thing for me, although reinstalling didn't help at all. It's very annoying to say the least :(

Interesting. So I tried loading into multiplayer and it starts download ugc tracks. It only takes about a minute then finishes, I then search for a game but alas no other players on :( . So I back out of multiplayer, check out a few things then go back into multiplayer (all in the same session without closing Trials) it then starts downloading ugc tracks AGAIN FOR SOME REASON???, and this time fails with a Download failed error.

Thankfully, I know how to use a little program called TCPView, which I've used to workaround many download issues in different games. So let me describe what happens when this error is occurring:

Attempt to go into multiplayer. Trials_fusion.exe opens a https connection to s3-1-w.amazonaws.com (54.231.18.89) OR 54.231.64.233. From this connection it will download EXACTLY 9,365 bytes and halt there. After about 15 seconds or so the error will appear in trials and the connection will end with a fin_wait1 state and disappear. Closing this connection manually in TCPview will make the download failed error appear sooner. However, closing this connection enough times when the download freezes at that number fixes the problem, and Trials will start downloading the UGC tracks without a problem and let me go into multiplayer.

I also want to note I've seen this issue occur before in a different game (elite dangerous launcher). Where it would download a certain amount of bytes before stopping and then timing out, causing a download failed in the program. Again, worked around the issue by closing the connection as soon as the download stalled, and retrying the download in the application, rinse and repeat until it started working. I might suggest developers put in auto-retry download feature (as in auto retry after a timeout and set max timeouts to around 3-5).

Hope the information helps :)

Hi Waistless,

Very good information, I'll share that with the team.

Did you favorite any tracks between the 2 times it downloaded UGC in multiplayer?

Cheers,

Waistless

No I did not (to be specific all I did was check multiplayer leaderboards), it seems almost random whether or not the system wants to download UGC tracks. For instance just finished a few games of MP and then got a session end after someone i was playing against DC/d, I was able to go back into multiplayer without it downloading any new UGC tracks. Also yesterday, the game crashed after finishing downloading UGC tracks like what happend to another user in this thread. However after restarting Trials, it did not need to download tracks entering multiplayer.

So I tried this out even though it seems like our problems aren't exactly the same, I don't have any tracks favorited and mine doesn't mention anything about downloading. It just sits at the spinning SAMSARA logo. I didn't see Trials_fusion.exe opening a https connection to s3-1-w.amazonaws.com at all though. I do see uplay having a connection to that, but never trials_fusion.exe.

Yea, spinning samsara logo is a different issue, this is to do with "Failed to download ugc track" errors.

Also, I have a hunch the issue with downloads stalling like that may be due to the use of cloud services like AWS. I was just having trouble loading a website that used cloudfront (stuck waiting on cloudfront.net, another amazon AWS service), only loaded it after refreshing it 5 minutes later. Might be worth looking into how well this service is performing in countries like Australia. It seems previous connection issues I was having with Uplay and TC may have been related to this. (I saw similar connection stalling in TCPView)

And I strongly suspect it may be related to other uplay connection issues others have been experiencing.

Sorry for not replying en0, i kinda forgot about this thread because the problem solved itself the next day. I have well over 300 favourites which might be why it caused problems

Anyway, the next day it started working after 40 minutes of download and i can now play mp as intended ;)

Thx anyway :)

Hi I did the latest update today and whenever I try to play online MP the logo starts to spin and it never stops. I can't do anything other than quit the game and restart. I'm n PS4 by the way. Anybody else having this issue?

That's the exact same problem I have been having, but on PC. I've been going through Ubisoft's support for the past week and everything they have tried to tell me to do has not fixed it. Even re-installing the game and uplay didn't help.

Hello,

Who is still having the problem with downloading UGC when going in MP please?

Regards,

Waistless
06-11-2015, 07:38 PM
I've since worked out the connection issues I had were due to wireless packet loss (downgrading the connection from AC 5ghz to N fixed it).

But here's an issue everyone's been having: every single time I load up multiplayer, I have to wait for downloading ugc tracks. Sometimes the game will crash during this process and I have to wait again. It will have to download UGC tracks again if I lose connection during a game/remote timeout/whatever reason I get kicked out of multiplayer, and immediately go back in. If I exit multiplayer and immediately and go back in I will also have to download UGC tracks again. This process always takes about 3-5 minutes.

Do you cache these tracks in a black hole or something? Would be nice if I only had to do this once...

edit: Also uploading a youtube video demonstrating these problems I'll pm to en0

Hello,

They are supposed to be cached and not redownloaded. It's how it behaved for us in dev environment.
We're looking at the issue to find what's different with the production environment.
