Now, I just know I'm going to get replies saying, "Yes you are".
And now I know I will, after saying that.

Now, my idiotic question is, What is this TrackIR thing, whats the big deal, and what is a Padlock?!

I'm a huge Flight Sim fan (I started on MSFS95 when I was 6, and I had Both IL2 titles since they've been released, and I still don't know what TrackIR and Padlock are.)

Some help would be appriciated.

Thanks for your time,
-Gubru

Plane of Choice: Storch

Usage: Flying into enemy objects

Reason: The sheer look on the enemie's face when they see a slow moving "Cessna"-like aircraft, with almost no offensive or defensive capabilites, travelling at a top speed of 20 KP/H, and having that snail-like aircraft collide with the enemie's is priceless.

TrackIR is an imaginary train track in the sky which some of us use as a "guardrail" of sorts to help us fly maneuvers better.

No, you're not stupid.

Dex is the guru of Track IR so throw a million questions at him. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Apparently he can get it for 90% off if you perform certain "services" for him. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

No problem, Gubru.

Dex does know all about it.
He is just yanking your chain.

Speaking of Yanks, get outta here, Buzz.
Don't you know this is a Canadians-only thread?

lol... Okay - this TrackIR thing is cool.

Is there a button so I can make my view stick to an area instead of reverting to the normal view of my cockpit? I use the Joystick Padlock button, and it snaps my view back to the front every time.

Thanks once again,

Yes there is but of course I cannot remember what it is right now.

It is an F button (F6,7,8ish) and I hit it by accident every once in a while.

I like my view to snap back to centre when I let go of the hat switch.

One of the geniuses around here will be by soon.

T IR had a cheat. A view you could only get by buying it from them. They tried to get rid of it. People found a way to keep it. Then it dawned on them, that nobody was ever going to upgrade their drivers, if they did not put the cheat back in. So now they are having a vote to see if people want to keep the cheat (gee, I wonder how that will turn out)

"Am I Stupid?" I dont think so. I think you are honest. Puts you "one up" on some of the folks around here.
