i found myself an old suncom f-15 throttle a while ago. i must say, it feels outstanding. a solid piece of work it is. however, having xp it does not work so well because it has to piggyback the keyboard. im going to buy a joystick and put its guts into the throttle. my criteria would be:

must have analog pots
must have programing software
preferably usb
cheap would be nice
buttons NOT soldiered onto little breadboards would be VERY nice

any ideas? i think i recall some company using the saitek cyborg guts and making authentic civilian flight sim throttles/prop pitch/mixture controls

I have four MS precision 2 joysticks. Two are brand new in the box. One is slightly used when i set up to play on my LaN. One I have been using continuously for three years with not one malfunction. I have beat the crap out of it and tried more than once to rip the stick right out of the base. NOt my best moments. But I am 6'2.5" and 215#, so I was impressed that I did not hurt it. The control with this stick is perfect. Fully programmable and usb. I heard MS quit making it's Sticks so I bought the two extras for stock. All the rest looked like cheap crap. Even when I read about CH products on forums there is tweaking and problems with them. I run my precision two at default settings. I program the buttons in FB how i want them.

If you can find one of these before they are all gone get it.

does it lend itself to disection and transplantation into the donee throttle?
