If you perusing, for WWII material, don't limit your searches to just the 1943-1945 back issues. Even some of the most current issues have good stuff in them. Here is a 1984 issue with good stuff on the Corsair:

Had a laugh...in the April 43 issue, there is a comic character with the name of Dilbert.
I understand this is where Scott Adams got the inspiration for the name...
