Claes Sundin and I just returned from a trip to Germany where we took part in the inauguration of the display of the original siderudders belonging to Messerschmitt 109s flown by the Luftwaffe aces Hermann Graf (212 victories) & Alfred Grislawski (132 victories) in World War II at Technikmuseum Speyer.

Check out the update on this on the Graf & Grislawski website:

All best,

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Cool stuff. It's too bad we don't have the rest of their 109s still attached to the rudders on display. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

That is just very cool. I'm a huge history buff and, living in the West, was not exposed to many aspects of the "other side" of the coin until the last 10 years or so.

I've had this site bookmarked for a long time, but also haven't visited it in a long time.

Thanks for the heads-up.
