Owed To GoodKn1ght

Tonight on War_Clouds, again, I was shot down twice by GoodN1ght in his illusive FW-190. I was ejected from the game when another regular shot me down for my 3 death total. I was able to claim two aerial victories myself before being ejected from the server.

GoodKn1ght always seems to be in the right place to greet and beat me. In fact most of the time I am shot down, it is by GoodKn1ght unless he is on my team. I have only shot him down once with a P-38. GoodKn1ght's score was 2300 and mine was 200. Most other player scores were much lower than his also.

On my previous Sorte, I was watching the netmessages and noticed that GoodKn1ght scored three victories in rather rapid succession. I was one of these casualties.

Now, granted he may have been on the server for quite some time but he seems to be in a league by himself. So what exactly gives him such an edge? I know there are many other players out there who consistantly have high scores. But GoodKn1ght's score generally rises into the thousands fairly quickly.

GoodKn1ght is the self proclaimed "Ace of Aces". Maybe this is true.

Any other Ace stories out there?

GoodKn1ght may be a good pilot, but he's definately not one to get along with. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I vote for Fred_77 - a top pilot in any plane and class.

hey what about me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I stayed alive for 3 hours in the p38 staying 6000-7000m lining up on the ground targets so my dive after the attack would lead me to the home strip at 840kmph reducing pp to hold the energy longer. I only had 550 somthing pts.

my first death was a swarm of 109s (3) jumped me on the normandy map going after the tank colums I was able to bail but didnt make it across the line which counts as a pk.

second map the teams were real bad in favor of the us/brit side, something like 15 red vs 6 blue who were doing excellent, the majority of red were all in p38s and a couple spits 1-2 p51ds
the 190s were popping the p38s like airballoons, one hit and nothing I seen one guy get 5 of ground attacking p38s in a row, I was going to try to help out but seen 2 more high contacts coming from thier base so headed for home rather then an instant death.

second death was 2 190s hosed me bad right before i went to fire my rockets at the tanks. I didnt even have time to blink me and the plane blew up into nothing.

third death was lame at 6000m instant aaa pk as soon as i went to dive down for the AA targets.

I seen gk get the death kick 3 times when i was in there. but each of his runs he had 400-700 pts+ more then I got in 3 hours, but I was playing very carefully.

Hes definatly one of the best players in the game.

S to you goodknight

Yes, he has shot me down many times. He knows how to fly that 190.

I'll never be as good as him. I'm not disciplined enough. The patience required turns it into work for me. And if I'm not having fun, it is time to do something else.

190a9 103 trottle, wep and rad 8, 100 pitch 75% fuel below 3500m 580kph and never overheat.

I can never reach top speed of the p38L in the game and thats with 25% fuel.

I feel your pain Leadspitter. I too am a fan of the P38, but dont feel its living up to its full potential in AEP. Perhaps after the patch it will feel a little better.

IMO a true ace is the pilot who could care less about the points and only cares about his wingman making it home in one piece.

He he....yes ...I suspect he is a very good student of tactics and deflectionshooting.
And he normally does very well (my opinion).

Good situationalawareness+tactics+agressiveness+luckand also knowing his planes limits........that should do the trick.
Its a good Idea to make recordings when he is on..to see what he does......(ofcourse he can make mistakes too).

Many dislike his lack of social politeness and foul mouth....but I bet those existed in RL too. Maybe "acehole" could be a lable for this kind of ace http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif(no offense ment, at all).
Anyway its fun to have him on my side and allways a challange on the enemyside...Im extra careful...like with other aces.

Cheers GK and see u on GG

This is what someone wrote about me......o.bviously a very o.bservant fellow.
(he shouldnt have)

"I really think o.b is a special kind of superace. He often sympathizes with other players and "lets" them shoot him down occasionally to keep the spirit up, often pretending to do evasive actions, and when he is on someones tail he just scratches the paintjob and lets them go. Its hard not to like a person like that, he is cute too. Once I saw him shoot down 5 planes in a sortie and went home with ammo left, being careful not to beat Goodknights record.
I love o.b and my sisters and their friends adore him (he is cute)."

Personally I think its bull...It was actually 6 planes in one sortie if u count an il2 on the ground.

there u go....

Actually the usually published figure of 414 mph is incorrect for the p-38L-5.

Both Lockheed and the NACA tests top at at around 440mph.

check here http://home.att.net/~ww2aviation/SpeedChart.html

This means we are REALLY getting stung on the staright line with teh p-38

WTF!! Just tried that in QMB and it works! Not only for the FW's but most planes with WEP! I've just done 15 minutes of continous loops in the P-51, 109, P-63 (well it ran out of wep pretty fast). Major fubar, this needs to be addressed asap. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

It is rather easy to aquire lots of points using Mk108s and shooting down P-38s on bombing runs and going home to land. Giving yourself 200 points per P-38. Good or not, the point Im making is...getting alot of points does not mean your all that http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Very true Havok...and I say this as a 109 driver.
And it goes the other way as well when Blue is ground pounding...it's pretty easy to run up the score on those in the 110's...
