Hi!

I use too have a server on Ubi sometimes on Hypperloby and im wondering.
All you other people whom has servers up how do you stand it with the server whinnings.

My server usually has a medium difficulty setting too try and please those whom are new too the game, and since i self dont like too fly on full real since it takes too long too get some action. The settings for most times are based towards fast dogfights.
It runs on a Broadband connection and on a fast computer so theirs almost no lag at all.I get lots of credit for that and thats the only funny thing.
I try too have historical plane sets on some maps and sometimes change too another map after a few hours play too please every one.

Then Why cant people stop whinning when they are on a server:The server is launched by a host with hes/hers personal setting too his/hers liking.

Most whinning is about more full real settings from those whom like that, and when i try too alter that the other people whine about the server being too difficult and not fun anymore.
The most Funny example ive had is when i accidently enabled the button too force cockpits on, people whom been flying just before started too whine about it a and asked if i had an hidden agenda against people with no cockpit on... LOL'
like this it continues all the time meaning i have almost no disire to launch my server anymore.
So have all others the same problem and find it less and less amusing too run a server??

whining about server settings after joining a server where the settings are listed is as low as you can get, although the settings you have aren't my cup of tea i'm sure many enjoy your server, unfortunately the ones who enjoy it probably dont tell you, i imagine its likely to be the same group that whine and nit pick about everything else in this game even though they only paid 40 bucks for it, dont be discouraged just fly and enjoy!

I get it all the time.
You host a game and in the discription
it says the year and/or plane set.
and they still moan! I just shrug it off.
Idiots!

People should be happy that some one dedicates or launches a server too let other people have fun within a hosted server.Thats all i say.

Ignore the whiners - it's your server and they can hardly complain that they didn't know what the settings were before they joined.

All server hosts get my respect. We need them, not the other way around.

Exactly what i think sturm_williger

With hosts that feel less willing too launch servers, the less servers their will be for people too play on, the hosts are usuing (mostly)a 2nd cpu just too have a server (dedicated or not) on the net.Which probably cost them some money. Just because they like the game and commited several hours of time just too let other people share the fun.
I think its ok too whine if the connections are bad, which results in Lag, but since that it works in 2 ways the host can have a good connection and the player a bad one and that makes him lag so that one is a little tricky.
Me my self have never whinned about a hosts setting,as you say sturm_williger the difficulty is shown before you join in on a server. And those whom comments that only makes me whanna puke and turn off the damn computer.

IGNORE THEM.

never did me any harm. after all they are borrowing your pc bandwidth, and should read the difficulty settings before entering.

if its too hard or too easy then they should find a more suitable playground.

Its not up to the host to be at their beck and call. Quite the opposite, they should show a little respect that you have the equipment and will to host and appreciate that you are doing them a favour. or we would all be flying 1 player games.

Thats from a veteran host.

Cheers, Tonedog.

You just can't please them all. Go to some of the more popular servers and watch the chatlog. These are popular servers because the settings, maps and player skill are what people are looking for, yet there is still whining or complaining about server settings, planesets or maps. I am a father of five and never reward my children's whining with what they want. I certainly won't do it for anyone else.

There are some servers who even have forums set up for input from players to make it better and more fun. One person's opinion is only that, but a consensus opinion, if listened to, can make things better for all.

Some people simply leave if the server parameters don't suit their taste while others will stick around unafraid to try something different or challenging.

My biggest complaint is this: Most of the information is listed in the mission brief. Coordinates, scenario, objectives, etc,...

Do us all a favor....RTFB!...please.

Difficult I know, try to ignore them, for every server whiner, there are probably 99 who don't (the silent majority).

We have many people in this sim, prepared to give time and effort freely, they are much apprecaited, believe me.

I find it quite incredible that people whine at all, at services that are provided free gratis.

I think some people just like to annoy others. They probably most of the time are fully aware of the settings before they enter the server. Only there to try the host`s patience. All games have their immature "counter-strike kids".

I sometimes host dogfight servers, and other games too, like R6: Athena Sword and the like. There is whiners everywhere, nagging about difficulty and such. blah blah nag nag. I just ignore them or tell them to take the train else where.

Do like the geese, just let it peel off.

Welcome to exciting world of hosting http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Every host gets this kind of feedback once in the while, some more often then others. Shoot last night i was accused of bias towards LW. laggy COOP and bad attitude... hehe, people are funny indeed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Just an observation. I ran a dedicated server on HL for about 8 hours a day for week on mediumn settings and it never got used. I bumped it up to full real and it was packed.

Just an observation.

I pay 750.00 a year to host a server 24/7 on a Tier1 OC48 backbone and have never seen anyone in the US with a ping over 100, most are in the 50's. I have spent many hours setting up FBD by Sammie and even more hours making the rotating maps. I have a web site dedicated to the server with a forum and do appreciate feed back from users.
However it is my coin and It has been my experience that you cant make everyone happy and I wont jump thru hoops trying to please them all.
If my squadmates and friends are happy than I am happy and most of all I do this becouse it is something I choose to do and could care less if it makes me known or cool.
I do it becouse I choose to do it and no other reason.
