Following on from my skin Black 14 a late Focke Wulf 190- D9 of Stab JG26 I have painted Black 1 of Stab JG26, the personal mount of Hans Dortenmann. In 150 combat missions, Hans Dortenmann was credited with 38 victories. He gained 16 victories over the Eastern front and 22 over the Western front, including one four-engine bomber and six Mustangs. He recorded 18 victories with Fw 190 D-9 Black 1 (W.Nr. 210 003) making him the most successful fighter pilot with this type Ending the war with 38 Victories and awarded the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold (1944) and Ritterkreuz (20 April 1945) One of my favorite D-9s has always been Hans Dortenmann's Fw 190 D-9, the third Dora 9 built by the Focke-Wulf factory, W. Nr. 210003. He kept this same aircraft throughout the war. Sadly he was forced to destroy it at the end, the subject of this skin. Hans Dortenmann survived the war but died on 1 April 1973.
Further information I have shows it having been repainted at the war end as yellow 1 with the removal of the markings over the Reich banding, this i will do as well if there is enough interest. being an Early D9 Black one carried the earlier Balkan crosses on the fuselage sides and has been painted again to represent a later war version, slightly the worse for wear and operating from temporary runways on the Autobahns and forests of Germany late 1944. Included in the skin folder as requested by several people are a full version as well as a No Swastika Version, an a unmarked version, devoid of all markings except some of the default skin ones is available within the Black 14 skin folder available elsewhere on www.il2skins.com (http://www.il2skins.com) all be it with reduced mottling and lighter exhaust staining.
