Heads-on firing was not a safe practice after all ?
Jussi Huotari: It was not specially recommendedâ.....
And later, as the Russians were armed with 20mm cannons, it was unwise to meet them heads-on

Nope, it was basically "hanging on the engine".
This caused some problems during training, as these planes were delivered in mid-1930s. Older pilots, who got used to light Potez XXV biplanes, had problems "switching" to a modern aircraft. On the other hand, young ensigns and ground crews quickly accepted Karas.

To Istreliteli:
I don't know whether fax onboard Karas is a joke, but what I do know is that fax machine was invented at the second half of the 19th century! Various simple prototypes were constructed to demonstrate sending pictures from one machine to another.

Well, I did use a cool name to draw your attention http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif , but I didn't make it up:

In 1936 there were experiments with a photo-cell based device, working in the KORN system, that was sending drawings via radio. Unfortunately that's all I know as of today. Even though we had experimental TV station in Warsaw back then, I doubt that this Karas-borne device could send photos, so I'll bet it were only drawings, e.g. spotted enemy postions marked on a map. So IMHO it must have looked like faxed image.

Yup, flyable one, with pilot, rear gunner (top), rear gunner (gondola) and bombardier (gondola) crew stations. It's one of the top priority flyable aircraft (PZL P.11, PZL-23, PZL-37).
