Ok, I've seen screenshots of the trailer all over the place and the most help I've gotten from people is "duh, use the print screen button and open your favorite graphic program and paste it in, duh?" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif My response is "GOSH IT WORKS SO GREAT WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT???///" --->> http://jerle.bahro.com/temp/missed4.jpg

I've tried Paintshop Pro7 and MSPain......t and I can't get it to do anything but play the trailer IN those programs. When I close out the trailer, I get a green screen like you see in the link. Any ideas? Help meeeeeee..... *serious puppy-eyed pout* http://jerle.bahro.com/smilies/pout.gif

(Thanks in advance. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )

Hi Jerle

I use Ifran View, I've just tried it as well. Ran the trailer and while it was running took screenshots and it worked fine for me. You can download it from the link below if you want to try it:

I just tried it and nope, it didn't work. Got the green screen again. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif (I used irfanview for Uru screenies and it works wonderfully)

EDIT to clarify: I tried running the trailer in QT and then taking a screenie using irfanview AND running it in irfanview. It wouldn't even open in irfanview.

Got it to work! Thanks to Alahmnat ( http://jerle.bahro.com/smilies/lovestruck.gif ), he suggested that I update my QT plug-ins and then stop on the frame while in QT, go to edit, then copy, then it will go to the clipboard and w00t! it worked! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hi,
It worked for me.

I ran the (big) trailer in Quicktime. I use Hypersnap to take screenshots. I ran hypersnap in the background, hit the control characters to take a screenshot, many times, and it took the screenshots. It took screenshots of my entire desktop (since the trailer isn't full screen), so I'll have to edit the jpg files, if I want to do anything with them.

hmm, it seems that my Quicktime has a "Capture" Icon that will copy the curent frame to the clipboard http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Why not just use that? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

I notice Windows Media Player doesn't have an Edit>Copy command in it. Cheap b*****ds. But my Quicktime player does. That's how I was able to make my sig. And it's all thanks to Jerle's inquisitiveness. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/10.gif

Or, if you have Xine+Linux, then preshing key 'T' it stores a snapshot of the current frame to your home directory. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Fraps! (http://www.fraps.com/downloads.htm)
I discovered this screen capture app while taking images in Uru...(remember Uru?). The free version works very well for screenies in DirectX games, as well as for stills of video.

http://jerle.bahro.com/smilies/omglove.gif @ fraps + Uru. That app is responsible for the close to 1GB (yes, giga) of screenshots and movies from Uru. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Jerle, that is one of the scariest looking smilies I've ever seen! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

I used FRAPS to record a few things, like a Cone game, and that high fall down to Garrison. I have a cheapo video card so they came out kinda choppy. Yes, they eat up tons of space. That's why I ripped them afterwards into WMP files. They're about 1/4 the size of avi files.
