Hello,
I got the Raf campaign when it was released and i really love the level of work that went into it. I noticed however, that the radio chatter WIL NOT GO AWAY! I keep hearing it in ALL of my campaigns regardless of nationality. is there a way to get rid of the chatter? im really getting sick of hearing "attacking with rockets" etc... in the middle of german fighter pilot missions.

I think that if you turn off the in-flight music from one of the control-panels that should do it. It was mentioned on one of the other threads.

REAL Simple...Toggle OFF the In-Flight Music on the Sound setup/Music Screen in FB. You can even do it while flying a mission: Hit ESC, then SOund setup, then Music, ans so on... Doesn't anyone read their manual these days, for ANY game/product/simulation???

The Conf.ini suggestion up above, I do not believe, has any effect on what You are talking about... It deals with the embedded "chatter" giving you headings, alerts, congrats on your kills, etc.....Entirely different from the "background" radio that was so Nice to hear , and so immersive, in teh battle over Britain Campaign files...

As much as the chatter was cool I removed it outright. Go into the Samples In-Flight music and remove the 01 and 02 waves that are there.

My thoughts exactly. A lot of youths simply can`t be bothered to read.

The trick with the radio chatter is to keep it at a VERY low volume, so it becomes mere background. That way, you can`t hear all that`s said just one or two words which adds immensely to the overall feel of the flight.

If you have it loud so it`s easily heard it will become repetitive and annoying. Keep it low!

Seafire,

You hit it on the spot http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Thank you!

That was my intention to begin with, an "Immersion" factor and nothing else since it was a last minute addition to the RAF voice pack I did not have time to add more radio chatter as I wanted to. I explained all of this in the readme file found in the RAF voice package.

Thanks for the replies, shutting the music off worked. As for not RTFM, i looked in my DL and al the readmes were corrupt or blank which is why i never saw them(my AV seems to just butcher documents). I realy hope i didn't offend you 1138, i really like the sounds in teh RAF campaign, i just find them slightly irritating on russian or german missions

S! I love it just as Seafire says. Down low.

My question is did you not do any tower actors Mine are not sounding British at all. Unless I have something installed wrong. I'm getting a big kick out of it. I've flown about 3 hours single player today straight. I have never done more than 20 minutes before.

Great job on it!!!!!!!!!

Hi Toad
I am not 100% sure but I think the radio tower voice is South African. Sure I read that in one of Extreme_ones threads last week.
Might be wrong though http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

This part of the project was NTESLAs baby but I can answer.
The radio controller is South African.
He does have quite a deep voice. Big balls too I believe http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hello Fellow Pilots,

Yes, Control Tower is South African, he should sound different than the original British Control Tower. If you have .wav files inside each voice actor inside the GB folder and they are dated 12-2003 or 01-2004 then you do have the RAF voice pack installed correctly. As for the other voice actors, here is where their accents come from :

ACTOR 1 - English (Wing Leader)

ACTOR 2 - English (Bomber Wing)

ACTOR 3 - English (Bomber Wing)

ACTOR 4 - South African (Control Tower)

ACTOR 5 - South African (Bomber/Fighter Wing)

ACTOR 6 - Irish (Wingman)

ACTOR 7 - English (Wingman)

ACTOR 8 - Canadian (Wingman)

ACTOR 9 - New Zealander (Wingman)

ACTOR 10 - Australian (Bomber Wing w/ACTOR 2)

All of this information is found in the "The historical background of the RAF voicepack.doc" document found on :

In your FB folder on your Hard drive go to samples folder/speech. make a backup then you can copy and paste the voices into the country folder you want.

Ntesla,
Thanks a million for the RAF Campaign and voices, unreal!{or real, real as case may be}.
Do you have plans to do more?{campaigns and/or voice packs}
In closing, a question if I may; What is the violin music that plays behind Mr Churchill's "we will fight" speech, do you think it's available on music cd somewhere?
Cheers, Horrido and bloody beauty!

Hello Bussard,

You are welcomed.

You need to thanks Poymando and Extreme_One for the RAF B.o.B Campaign, my job was only with the RAF voice pack, Background Radio Chatter and Menu Music.

The Violing music is the main theme for the movie "The Last Of The Mohicans", very good soundtrack by Trevor Jones.

Ntesla,
Thanks much for that info, I thought I'd heard it some where and couldn't pin it down.
Credit to Poymando and Extreme_One for the Campaign, but you really shoudn't be so modest, only shoud not appear in context to the voice pack work you did.
Planning to do more on a similar vein or is that classified?
