Hi.

IL-2 is Windows-only game (and it won't run under Linux even using Wine/Cedega), so I wonder if there is any chance that Pacific Fighters will change that?

Greetings.

plus, linux really isnt a big enough market for PF, so they wouldnt go to the trouble of trying.

Even if you use Linux only, you can use Windows XP as FB only system, and its a simple install.

Yes, it is - but switching for Win each time I want to play isn't very comfortable. Also, my Linux machine works as FTP server and NAT, so it should be always up.

Oh, I thought that Pacific Fighters will use DirectX or OpenGL, like IL-2. If it's only directx, then chances for Linux version are very little http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Anyway, I hope that at last making this game work under WineX emulation is possible.

FB (to my knowledge) is based on OpenGL. And PF is based on the same code.

isn't it possible to run a windows emulator under linux? - I know it can be done under Mac OS.

There are several ways to emulate Windows under Linux (Wine/Cedega, WmWare) but none of these ways works with IL-2.
