Someone else posted this site several months ago. I've been dreaming about it ever since. Dreaming, because I'll never be able to afford one of these beauties unless I win the lottery. But if i ever do, then this is the place I'm going to go shopping. Remember, the Fw 190 comes in a kit form only. You have to build it yourself. I can barely run a table saw without cutting my head off. If I built it, it would probably look like something out of a Dr. Seuse book. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Also not cheap to fly. 990km from 880l fuel at cruising speed of 585 km/h from the 42l fuel-injected motor...

They will perform somewhat better than the original, several hundred pounds of guns and armour missing http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

BTW, your sig is making the forum page too wide, how about a few less underscores and a carriage return before the text?

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif Unfortunately the CAA in the UK will put the brakes on that, especially if they are going to be displayed, same with the new build ME 262 'S .

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Indeed it is, hence the slightly altered(ugly) nose profile of these new Wurgers.
I reccon there aren't that many BMW801 engines left. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I plan to visit this company in September. I have to go to Germany on business and will take a few weeks vacation while I'm there. My idea is to interview someone from Flugwerk, take a lot of photos, and post it online. Before I go I will start a thread for you guyz to give me questions to ask. Then I want to give all the info and photos to the squadron sites. Who knows, maybe Oleg will let me post it on the FB site. I'm really looking forward to doing this.

Yeah, I've seen one in person. Is a kit by the way - not assembled. Figure about 500k more to go to finish it. Makes for one seriously expensive toy.

This year, I'm going to go back and check progress and get up the nerve to ask to sit in it.

Very nice indeed - buggered if I would try to fly one of those, even if I was qualified.

That 190 is beautiful, but I could imagine very deadly if the pilot made a mistake.

Could you ask them whether their aircraft would be certifiable by the UK CAA for flight over in the UK,for displays or otherwise, same for the 109'S and P51'S ,many thanks

Could you ask them whether their planes conform to the UK C A A rules for flight and display in the UK,109'S and P51'S as well,Many thanks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Next year they are going to build the DB 601 and 605 engines for the new 109`s also from scratch. It will enable them to build a more authentic D-Model 190.

I believe the German rules for certifying aircraft is even more strict in Germany than in England, therefore don`t worry about the CAA..

very nice site! now we can find out which was the better dogfighter the 51 or the 190,

first we will need a few million pounds ( to buy the planes) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

and then a 2 willing REAL pilots from the IL2 community to do some test dogfighting with paintballs instead of bullets in the mk108's and 50 cals http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

ok...wheres the paypal link ill send $50 in for this project http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Yes, I always think of this when these new 190 replicas are discussed.

Besides late La-series, what else would this engine have been used in? Why is it so availible when compared to other WWII radials?

I wonder how the ASh-82FN and BMW 801 compare.

Do you suppose there are sufficient plans and examples of BMW 801s around to support reproduction of that engine?

Snow_Wolf_

won't BMW themselves will have old plans store somewhere in there factories of the BMW 801 engines?
