Sorry I'm posting this Q here but the Mission Builder Forum seems dead. How do you make a scripted DF map & what software do you need?

"So when Diogenes perceived that he was greatly excited and quite keyed up in mind with expectancy, he toyed with him and pulled him about in the hope that somehow he might be moved from his pride and thirst for glory and be able to sober up a little. For he noticed that at one time he was delighted, and at another grieved at the same thing, and that his soul was as unsettled as the weather at the solstices when both rain and sunshine come from the very same source."

You use the program that is available from the link above. Then you use parameters in the full mission builder when you design the mission. The parameters can look something like this:

<ARMY FBD>
Blue=50:45:5:0:5:0:0:0:2=blue-win.mis
Red=75:85:0:0:0:0:10:3:1=red-win.mis
TimeLimit=75:None:tie.mis
EscapeProc=35
com=chat Welcome To My Server! ALL
com=mp_dotrange DOT 15 COLOR 3 TYPE 3 ID 3 NAME 2 RANGE 5
</ARMY FBD>

In this example, Blue has 50 planes, 45 pilots, 5 ground targets (wagons), and 5 tanks. Red must destroy 50 planes, or 50 pilots, or 5 ground targets AND 5 tanks (since numobj is 2), for victory. If Blue wins, blue-win.mis will load.

Red has 75 planes, 85 pilots, 10 cars, and 3 ships. Blue must destroy 75 planes, or 85 pilots, or 10 cars OR 3 ships (since numobj is 1), for victory. If Red wins, red-win.mis will load.

The time limit on the mission is 75 minutes, and if that time limit is reached there is no winner. Unless a mapcycle.txt is present, tie.mis will load.

The first com=... sends a welcome message to the players. The second com=... sets the dotranges.

The chances of escaping capture, if bailing behind enemy lines, is 35%.

Thx guys - but I guess it's only for dedicated servers. I mean it would be too heavy to run a normal host with this, right?

No not to heavy for client side hosting, doesen't take much resources at all. However, there was always a problem with the mapswitching after either team has won when using FBD on the same machine as one was playing on. Long time since i hosted this way so haven't tried this with FBD 2.0 = not sure if the problem is still there or not.

Ok - I'll give it a shot. Might take a few days before I got it ready but look for my name at HL & you are welcome to join in & help me testing.
