Neither really "came" first. You see, all an egg is, is genetic material and other nutrients needed to make life. So, how could a chicken just appear? It had to come from something. Not necessarily an egg, but another descendent of some sort. The first "chicken" probably did not spawn from what we would consider an egg, but perhaps it was a mutation of another organism. Pope probably could write a book on this post, but since he's been there done that, I doubt he'll do it again.

Realistically, neither came first, because distinct species cannot appear in one generation's time. But, if you want to assume that they can, then the egg came first. You have a near-chicken that lays an egg that happens to have whatever mutation it needs to make it a real-chicken. Thus, the egg came first.

And now for the real question: do you think that everything tastes like chicken because the machines couldn't figure out exactly how it tastes?

Everything tastes like chicken because nobody is clever enough to describe them otherwise.

I still claim that the chicken or the egg question does not specify the type of egg. Therefore, the answer is that the egg came first, because non-chicken species (such as dinasours) were laying eggs long before chickens, or near-chickens were evolved.

I think the bravest man in the world was the first person to eat an egg. I mean, it comes out of a fowl's Arse and he just said "hey ima eat that"

Everything tastes like chicken because long ago chickens ruled the planet and any animal that said everything doesn't taste like chicken had to eat chicken for the rest of its' life, and therefore, all creatures say, "everthing tastes like mf-ing chicken." You didn't know that? Idiots. Geez. I learned that in life first grade.

No, I say the bravest man was the guy who first drank milk. Like, who was the first person to go up to cow and was like "Hmm, I think I'll drink whatever comes out of these when I drink them.." /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

A chicken is the egg's machine to produce another egg.

Perhaps, but it's possible that an egg is the chicken's machine to produce another chicken.

The chicken and the egg are laying in bed together. The chicken is smoking a cigarette with a satisfied smile on its face while the egg is frowning and looking slightly annoyed.
The egg mutters "Well I guess that answers that riddle".
