There must be new engine for terrain created first. Pple will not be able to create normal landscapes on this one http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Good question.

I don't know what he's on about. Although many of the maps look very similar, the variety that we can get is pretty impressive really. Take the mountain map compared with say the Kuban map or the new Pacific online.

Look at all of the different textures used - I don't see why the current engine couldn't be used to create just about any map you might want.

A question without a direct answer... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It is a 2001 year made. Roads crossing with 45/90 degree angle. Forest made with tranparent layers. High texture load on grass surface. There are many small things to be renewed.

I like method of using tile-square elements. They lowing memory load on terrain texture and assures far more detailed world than with standart "phototexturing". I just mean it MUST be renewed. It was created a bit simplified.

I know that most here wouldn't agree with me, but I KNOW ALSO THAT THEY ARE CERTAINLY TO AGREE WITH ME IN A YEAR OR TWO, IF ENGINE WOULD BE THE SAME. I just look forward

I understand that everyone can say "it is bad" and few can make it better.

For example tiles could get detailed. It require much of memory, but not far more than multilayer textures used for grass. With more polygon load per tile with powerfull LOD system landscape would be far more capable. I say again it is only an example. By the way, are you still reading http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Of course, there can be created an landscape editor for pple use. Its not very hard to create, but I, personally, think that engine should be really renewed before pple get their hands on landscape editing. So their work would me more effective.

I know that all is not constructive.

At least that's my point.
