Maddox Games appears to be making Spitfire Undercarriage levers, see the inset picture i enlarged http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif took a happy snap at work so you can see the real thing on the MK19, wonder if we will get the window with the selection in it (reads idle in photo)

Jezus Christ, look at the detail in that pic. Stunning!! Now I wonder how good the rest looks!! Now only one word is left ... UPGRADE!!

Impressive!!

Now if only the flight models will have that "down to the rivet" detail and accuracy. One can only cross one's fingers and hope.

even if you get top speeds correct Stigler ,

or times for engine termination to happen

or the acceleration times of A/C

how do you correctly give each plane the correct amount of E retention (?)

its always going to come down to a balancing act in some areas

looks stunning; yup I smell an upgrade (any excuse)

Crashing online as :FI:SpinyNorman

Normally Spiny Norman was wont to be about
twelve feet from snout to tail, but when Dinsdale was depressed Norman could be
anything up to eight hundred yards long.

Badsight, a lot of that is simple physics equations and more complex aerodynamics.

i say simple, but I'm a total math idiot, so I say "simple" for those who are knowledgeable in those sciences.

It takes a little "fudging" to get the proper results, too. And there is some wiggle room.

But, I'm just commenting on some of the W.A.G. and outright *way off* phenomenon we see in these FMs. All that rivet counting has taken its toll. I'd rather see a cockpit 75% as detailed and know that the FM was within a few % points of right.

WTF?!No rust?!
Oleg better rethink the graphic engine!http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

it is not rust, the Mk 19 was presurised and it is the sealant they used bleeding into the paint

*Squinting at the selection lever*

Unless I'm very much mistaken, it has the words "Maddox Games" embossed on it. Awsome!

You wouldn't figure the rust would be there during service years, unless yer in the Pacific, or at sea.

That's museum rust, and shouldn't be there...

Sort of the same concept about Erla Haube "yellowing"; sure it's on the museum examples, but not in the real event. Still that didn't stop Oleg's team from ruining the view of late 109s, Stuka D gunners (who could really use a bottle of Windex back there, and others.

Man, that is good. The only thing missing would be the scuff marks on the rib near the pedals but then again maybe this one is fresh of the assembly line. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I will take this opportunity to say that this quality is worth the wait, and the upgrade.

My suggestion to Oleg is to buy stocks in hardware manufacturing companies before releasing BoB. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

BTW, just yesterday I was gonna start a thread asking for a link to BoB updates. I can do that here. I'm curious about the BoB plane list.

Lol, it surprises me how many people ignore Taylortony when he says that stuff isn't rust. That Spitfire also isn't a museum plane, it's very much a living breathing example and I've seen it flying at 2 different airshows.

Has anyone noticed?

This may have come up before in threads that I haven't read, but Taylortony, what kind of spawny git job have you got that enables you to sit in the cockpit of a MkIX and take pretty pictures? I'm coming over all green and envious, and maybe beginning to understand why you skin the Spit so well (still flying your Baders Bus MkV). Sorry if you've had to go over it endlessly before, but I'd love to know.

By the way, that BOB Spit cockpit has me drooling, apart from sitting in the History Channel Spitfire prototype model cockpit at Duxford, that's as close as I'm going to get.

I am a licenced Aircraft Engineer and i suppose i have sat in a lot of things that would make you drool, but the Mk X1X I sat in was just to take some pictures for you lot.

Thing is I never really bother what it is these days, they are all the same to me, a plane is a plane, sad I suppose but it's a bit like seeing a different car, do you have the desire to go sit in that? I spend my days and often evenings servicing, repairing and rebuilding them for longer than i care to remember, so much so they start to all look the same, try sitting doing a ground run for 5 hours with everything turning and burning, at least on a motorway the scenery changes http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. The main difference you notice from sitting in a generic Spam Can to something like a Spit, Mustang, Stearman, Vulcan, Jaguar, chipmunk etc is the Smell. That is something that is totally different, a musty sort of old leather come castor oily type smell, if you could bottle it and sell that you would be rich..

It never occured to me that people would go nuts to sit in one until the local radio station had a competition to sit in it and be shown round it, they had about 5 times the people enter than their normal competitions... so i suppose i should look on it as priveledged.

I would be more interested if they had a new flat panel instrument panel like EFIS etc than the Aircraft as that is computers and they fascinate me..................till they go wrong.

This eye-candy thing bothers me. Sure these new graphics look nice, but Oleg is going for eye-candy at the expense of improving AI and DM/FM. At least apparently so. I understand how a lot of you are drooling at graphics like that but do we want stuff that looks that nice in Bob, but the same stupid AI as FB has?? We need AI improvement, thank you very much. It would be no improvement to me at all if we see cockpits like that but still have to put up with AI that is too stupid to turn and head for home when low on fuel. Or too stupid to attempt to crash land in a field rather than a forest. Or so stupid as to cruise low and slow over an enemy airfield without jinking at all. Sound familiar??

amazing that people can whinge about AI in a game that isn't out for ages yet http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

Oleg has said that AI will be 'revolutionary'...and hopefully not too stupid.

I'm more concerned about the hundreds of quid I'll spend on an upgrade just so I can get the most out of BoB and the fact that I'll be happy to spend it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Alu doesn't rust reddish brown. A fact that some skinners seem to neglect. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Correct http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif but the screws do, bolts do and certain parts of the fuselage can often strengthened with Steel plates......... the il2 fuselage would rust as the majority of the front end was steel http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
