whitin the Campaigns it would be rewarding to be able to help downed comrades by circling over them and ask for their help, maybe uing the existing controller assistance command in the comm. menu.

A Floatplane or PT could be directed towards your possition while you kept a eye on the downed pilot in its dinghy or hiding on the ground and strafe aproaching enemys!

One step further would be landing if possible close to the pilot when close enough the pilot boards ( Message "Downed Pilot aboard" apears and off you go!

When you downed a enemy pilot you could also circle him if he is over friendly teritory push the same command for frienly forces to capture him and race your score!

very rewarding to safe some veteran pilots for your flight don't you think?

Yup, I agree. I have a feeling we may see something like this considering there are pilots lying in lifeboats being modelled!! So this feature may well be available to us.

Rescue patrols were a big part of the war in all theatres, so I would really hope we can do something similar to this. I certainly would love to fly in a dedicated SAR based campaign.

whit ye looking at, ya big jessie?!?!

Amen. SAR would be fun. Slipping in under a raging furbal to snap up some downed flyer with enemy fighters and ships taking potshots at you..

Even online: If you rescue a downed squadmate, you get some points, and that's one more pilot that wasn't Killed/lost for that game. Now guys that have poor dogfighting skills (me) have something to do http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yep a SAR would be something I can sure get into. Currently if a pilot crash lands in coops and lives we have one person land and stop right next to him to simulate a rescue then take of and return to base, while others fly CAP for him. well maybe not very realistic, but most seem to enjoy it, as do I, jsut need to have a flyable seaplane now...
So I think this is a great feature and something that can add to the features listed on the box as a selling feature!!!

Thanks Skulls but why is it not realistic to pick up downed pilots, or fly over them so the SAR can find them?

The reason why i posted this idea is because I read a lot of live accounts from vets and they did pick up downed comrades if possible several pilots at least succeded fliyng sitting on the lap of the downed pilot to fly back to base.
About CAP, The VMF-214 Blacksheep in one instance decided not to attack a armed sampam aproaching their downed comrade the ground objective target they had hit would be attacked by a second element and they where afraid the Imprisoners would retaliate this on their downed pilot he did survive after beeing captured.
