View Full Version : Ground AI for DF servers in future Maddox sims

Will PF allow you to take off from moving carrier's in DF servers? That is have AI carriers with a navigation path in dogfight server missions?

It would be great in the future to have moving ground targets and carriers in DF servers. Allow you to setup a loop for AI ground objects to follow or simply a path that would stop after X time (hopefully mission would end before objects stopped moving). Built in the victory conditions we have in FBDaemon to the sims dogfight missions and it would rock http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

yes, huge bump here - we need moving objects in dogfight missions.

we have dcg df mission tool and all we need is moving objects to make it complete

They will just have to give us the ability to radio for a landing vector in the DF server from the carriers. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Shouldn't take any more CPU than it does in coops http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Big Bump from me on this one. It would turn the DF server into a completely new environment! Just ground objects would be enough (ships included, of course).

S~ Alles,

Having the moving objects in the DF missions gives us the ability to run 24/7 on-line war scenerios with the DCG system updating the mission every 90 min or so.

I don't see why it would take anymore than a coop server does?

Plus, you can run this on dedicated box instead of someone's gaming rig - makes it more powerful.

I fly with map icons and flight path off. As a result i can hardly find my airfield, particularly after any drawn out combat. Mostly it a combination of flying in vaugely the right direction and then parying for a familiar land mark.

Now imagine what will happen in Pf with that lov ely featureless ocean to contend with. Combine this with the fact that when my bloody airfield decides that it doesn't like the scenery in this neck of the Pacific and motors off to find some where thats got a nicer view or is closer to the shops!
