Strange world in FB and the miracle of DM's.

Of the 3-some FW190, 109F/G and Spitti-V-family, the Spitfire is the most tought brawler of these 3 of these channel front contrahents. (The 190 is actually made of glass (a small-calibre hit results in a dramatic loose of perfomance, whereas the Spitfire can absorb 20mm rounds like a B-17 can do) Completely off to anything you'll find and read at any library in the world. I hope the DM's of either the 190 and Spitfire will receive some revision.

That's the big problem with the 190 now: one small bullet in the wings, lot of speed less immediately!

I agree with Kimura!
The Damage Modelling in ACES is really aweful... some of the new planes are made of concrete

these include the Spitfire, the Kingcobra, the Hayate Ki-84 and the Ta152

these 4 planes seem to be almost immune to 20mm and extremly resistant to 30mm ammunition http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

the only way to shoot down these fighters is to either set the engine on fire or kill the pilot. It is VERY rare that they loose parts of their structure such as wings, rudders, etc.
I hope the upcoming patch revises the DM of these planes http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Actually, one bullet hit doesn't do it.

Watch in arcade mode, the performance doesn't get affected until 3-5 50cal hit the wing.

Though I would agree that the performance hit after a few dings is a little excessive.

You think thats bad, try out the B-17.

In one pass with the Spit, you can light all 4 fuel tanks on fire. Fire a few MG bullets at the wing, instant fireball. It lights quicker than the MiG-3.

They require half as many hits to kill as the Gladiator.

It was stated last week that the damage models for all of the planes was strengthened for Aces.

I can honestly say, it seems better to me after about 10 hours of flying various A/C.

The only one that strikes me as "off" is the He162. I had a P-51 parked on my six the other day low and slow and he peppered me with 50's repeatedly. All he got for his troubles was a little smoke and death after I throttled up and came around on him.

Neither one of us could believe it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/354.gif

Or maybe it my maneuvering skillz! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

162 goes down easily enough. Not tissue papaer, but not admantium either.

The P-38 and Yak3 however....... The Yak3 absorbs at least 3 Mk103 hits (big explosions and everything) before it starts to show any sign of weakness. It then takes pilot error or a 4th hit to put it down. And the P-38..... firepower that vaporizes P-47s barely scratches the paint on the P-38. Takes at least double what the Yak3 does in terms of Mk103 hits.
