6) NONE OF THE ABOVE .

I use a pair of sunglasses with the lens taken out and the reflective dot mounted to the space above the bridge .
I use the big square dot , not one of the small round ones .
I have a piece of plastic super-glued on the bridge , above the nose , the reflective square sticks to that piece .
It sounds crude but it works !!!

I normally use mic headset so I have that running all radio comms. Actual sound from ingame etc is fed to the speakers I have placed around the room. Normally I have been at a disadvantage on play time cause I talk to girlfriend on phone and she calls at worst moments, but today I had an epiphany. The phone headset is the same as the mic headset, so I slapped two dots on teh phone headset and got to fly while on the phone (dogfight mission, no need for comms)! I have retaken an hour or so in my day!

1.21 is the final version optimized for TrackIR1.
2.21 is optimized for TrackIR2 - Honestly, I've not yet seen a difference.

I disassembled my old remote control and rigged the IR-diode to a battery. I fixed both on a cap and use TrackIR in passive mode. Works perfect!

BTW T_O_A_D Have you tried using silver paint or alluminium foil as a reflective surface? My home made thingy is good but it's a bit flimsy and I think a sphere is probably the ideal shape for the TrackIR to track, so I'm thinking about the wooden or possibly polystyrene ball idea.

I tried foil on me balls no luck http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif didn't try any paint. I'm sure if you could get ahold of some the silver reflective paint that is used on Hiway signs it just might work. I use that reflective tape used for infared digital tachs. All my stuff I'm sure you have read in my thread.

I use (2) 1/2 strips provided from NP on my mic boom. All I need and works very well. I also purchased the strips of the raw material from NP for use later as replacements. Maybe once every 6 months or so I need to replace them. Not because they are falling off but the reflective properties deminish slightly over time due to environmental issues (finger oils, dust, etc) You'll see them slowly change from a bright silver appearance to a dull grey after a bit. When that happens I change them.

Ive made boom with a ball on the end on which i have 5 dots. this then clips to my glasses in a position the same as the mike on my headphones. This way i can use my speaker system and dont have to use phones all the time.

Still trying http://mysite.freeserve.com/bull_dog/images/1-picture1.jpg?0.9261296277898643 Still dying

I own the Naturalpoint hat. It has reflective surfaces on the brim and the back depending on how you like to wear it.

It's been a great hat, looks normal, etc...

I prefer the brim facing forward - it puts the reflective surface closer to the unit.

I use 1 large dot on the rear strap of a baseball hat, worn backward for comfort. It tracks fast and precise once the profile is tweaked.

I did order the trackhat, but its backordered for now. Actualy I cant believe it would work much better than a normal hat with a dot stuck on it. I prob wouldnt order the track hat again.

Some of the Track IR 1 Users still run the first driver , and here is why.. they are able to see over the back of the seat when in flight.. the new drivers fixe that issue.. I use a Track IR 2 and would not give it up for the world.. It is a whole lot better than the first one.
