No one can help you until you help yourself. How do you expect to find your way if you're map-illiterate?

Okay, in FB, make sure you have mini-map path turned "on" under the difficulty options. This will give you a small airplane icon on the map representing your aircraft's location and current direction of travel. It will also have circles and lines showing your waypoints. Press "M" to bring the map up while you are flying. It defaults to full-zoom, so while the map is open, move your mouse cursor over it and right-click to zoom in and out until you see your aircraft icon showing your current location. You can click and drag with the left mouse to move the map around in its window.

Can't help you with Silent Hunter, but I'm sure it's completely different.

Silent Hunter is a little bit OT for an IL2 flight sim board.But if you need help with Silent Hunter then visit the forum on this site;

You'll probably notice that 1 of the moderators there has a familiar name. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

You`re overloading yourself. Deal with ONE sim first! Solve that, then go to the other.

In addition to "Mini-map path" you might also need "Map Icons" turned on if your map reading skills are as bad as you say. If they really are that bad, you would benifit from learing some map reading in more than just those two sims http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
