I've just received a thankyou card from the son of a lady I work with. I provided him with my old IL2 CD's as he had shown an interest in flying etc. I took this as an opportunity to 'get one for the team' and convert him to IL2 rather than let him be taken to the dark side at MSCFS. Here is the contents of the card - the boy is eight years old

Dear Mark,

Thank you sooooooo much for the flight software IL2. I don't know how I lived without it!!! It is so life like, and thanks sooo much again for giving it to me.

I've also 'advised' his mother on the benefits of an X45 system so it looks like he's got that lined up for christmas.

I'm still working on my own son (also 8). He's more into Star Wars etc but over the weekend I helped him build his first model kit (1/72 scale P47D) whilst I was building a Mistel 5 (He-162 + jet powered bomb). He could not wait to get his hands on it. Previously when we had gone into the hobby shop he'd been looking for models of X-Wings etc. Now he's slowly being turned to the bright side - Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey.

Anyone else with stories of conversion?

I converted a local dentist here. Ran into him all the way down in Phoenix at Bestbuy. he was looking at some cr@p joystick and I said what you fly Dr?

To make a long story short I think Bestbuy should owe me commision on one copy of the Goldpack and a new X45 and a 9800 pro

Instead I'll settle for knowing there is one less frustrated virtual pilot out there saying silly things like " but CFS2 runs pretty good on my MX440"

I always have just enough fuel to arrive at the scene of my crash.

I do that all the time as i work in my local BB part time. However if I am anywhere... in any store and I see someone looking at joysticks, flight mags, flight sims, or even WW2 software I direct them to FB. So far there are about 10 people that I know of who bought the software. I dont know if any of them come here.. I give them all links to here, the Essentials page and my site. So far I have sold about 6 X45s, 10 or so copies of the GOLD pack, a few #Ds, and a few 9600,9800Pros and a few XTs.
