Does anyone know what the RPM limits of the D9s engine are in FB? It's quite essential to know when you want to control the prop pitch manually.

I don't know the actual specs on the plane, but I figured it should be near a late model 109 RPM? Still I flew a D9 a couple times a week or so ago, and was constantly getting very high revs even with the autoprop enabled.

The Jumo 213 turned considerably faster than the DB engines.

Thanks, I'll have to check up on that. Sadly my list of items to be read is languishing of late.

Why you want to do this?
Read the Book about Tank and his meaning about this and you know no pilot used man prop and so one in WWII

There was a thing called Kommandoger¤t which was responsible for all things in the plane (prob, mixture...)

I want to do that because I suspect the auto prop pitch in FB hampers the planes performance in many cases.

performance will not be improved with man prop/mix in 1.11

maybe with the next patch call 1.111 but now the auto is faster in FW190

In game it rev's up to about 3400 RPM and overheats at 3500 RPM or greater. With auto pitch enable it seems to rev considerably slower around 2900 RPM.

Historically, max. engine RPM :

DB 605 series : 2800 / min
Jumo 213 series : 3250 / min

They usually allowed for 2-5% overreviving for very short periods (30 secs). Though this is different in the game.

But keep in mind this is ENGINE revolutions per minute, not PROPELLOR! Propellor revols at around half that rate as it`s geared.

However FB is very nice and soft harted when it comes to overrevving the engine... IRL overrevving so much as in FB (3500 RPM and so...) was a certain engine killer.
