That's all I have to say. If you don't know who he is you've probably heard his music in all your favourite films.

I liked Lorne Balfe. Both Lorne and Hans did Inception's soundtrack

Bring anyone back. Unity's soundtrack was boring and during gameplay, hardly any music which made the game as a whole, boring.

Wait, Unity had a sountrack? Lol! /s

Seconding this, bring back anyone or atleast hire some competent ones. Unity was the first AC game whose music was..bad. Boring, uninspired, soulless. Sarah Schachner has her moments, but she definitely doesn't meet, well atleast my, standarts that were set up by other composers.

I agree with OP.

His Man of Steel score was just a new level of magical. He's done work for video games before. Ubisoft should recruit him.

In particular, Victory. :p

I hope they get someone who can create some decent ambient tracks. Anyone really. That's what's been missing from recent AC games imo.

COD did it and I'm sure ubisoft have enough to get him. It's not like they're using their money to make sure their games are working properly :/

I hated the long, silent passages in the game. All I had to listen to were the faint hums and hisses of the hardware in the room, pulling me right out of the experience. "The silence is deafening."

Right.

Balfe already desecrated the soundtrack with needless 'epicness'.

I love me some bombastic music.

not to say i dont like soothing music either

for example i love revelation's main theme

which ironically was partially created by Hans

So do I but legit everything in AC3 is bombastic except for a few tracks like Connor's life. And don't get me wrong some bombastic tracks are good too, the main theme is awesome

I just feel like AC had this mellow, unique sound and then Balfe came and turned it into any other old film or game soundtrack.

Well as long as it's clear to Hans some elements should be Melancholy I'm sure he can handle a nice balance :)

Regarding the possibility of Hans doing the soundtrack, probably nil.

He's busy composing every movie ever.

I actually follow Hans and he composes like 9874293874923874923874923874928374987 different things (movies, games, etc) everyday

It's amazing, really

I'm certain he can fit in AC

Uhm... I may misunderstadnd your definition of bombastic,but...
From the released soundtrack:
Uncertain Present (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLFVzImOL0E&list=PLu6_FOgZp3ei5_eYmchu9mahiW5uccUjL&index=2) - not bombastic
Homestead (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W1KdR9Dhbc&index=11&list=PLu6_FOgZp3ei5_eYmchu9mahiW5uccUjL) - not bombastic
Desmond's Destiny (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlOVD5iTPy8&list=PLu6_FOgZp3ei5_eYmchu9mahiW5uccUjL&index=15) - not bombastic
Beer and Friends (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBw1Zyhod7Y&index=20&list=PLu6_FOgZp3ei5_eYmchu9mahiW5uccUjL) - not bombastic
What Came Before (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLo63UeV_mU&list=PLu6_FOgZp3ei5_eYmchu9mahiW5uccUjL&index=24) - not bombastic

From unreleased:
Boston/New York ambient theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1k2JrpfPJc&list=PLpZTLuh7iREaoNGQ_USwy3GyRbntpd_OW&index=40) - not bombastic
Freedom Tower (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV_KoJ5gPps&list=PLpZTLuh7iREaoNGQ_USwy3GyRbntpd_OW&index=36) - not bombastic
Haytham's 'suspense' theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1drcGF6dY04&list=PLpZTLuh7iREaoNGQ_USwy3GyRbntpd_OW&index=10) (Escape in Style essentially) - lots of nonbombastic variations
Through Forests of the Frontier (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4Po_dmTXB4&list=PLpZTLuh7iREaoNGQ_USwy3GyRbntpd_OW&index=44) - not bombastic

And those are just from the top of my head, there's lots of unreleased on cd soundtrack for AC3 many of which aren't epic or bombastic

Forgive me Farlander, for I have sinned.

Maybe not all of them, but a lot were anyway. I can just remember that the music I heard throughout the game, wasn't particularly appealing to me for the most part.

But there's some gems for sure. Connor's Life is one of my series favorites and What Came Before is a great modern day track.

I think some other good composers would be Christopher Tin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJiHDmyhE1A

then journey's composer Austin Wintory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3hFN8UrBPw

Yeah I'm still harping on Civ IV and Journey. Come at me bro.

and ofc there's the Halo and Destiny composer Martin O Donnell

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiIltLoN-6Q

there's more I'm still looking up the names to but these are the ones that come immediately to mind

seriously, composing is one of the most underrated art forms out there IMO. At least where I live.

Greg Edmonson - Uncharted.

Gustavo Santaolalla - Last of Us.

Jason Graves - TR.

Cliff Martinez - Far Cry 4 (and former Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer)

Quite a few more escaping my mind at the moment.

The composer of Freedom Cry -Olivier Deriviere - also did a phenomenal job on 'Remember Me'

If we ever got a modern day AC, this would be the guy I go for. Very good with Sci-Fi.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb9Q98JU3ak

Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite's composer Garry Schyman did an amazing job as well.

Marcin Przybyłowicz and Percival Schuttenbach seem to be doing well in Witcher 3's soundtrack but I'm going to wait until full release before judging 100%

This is the work of Hans Zimmer AND Lorne Balfe:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18mQt1kR8Ks

They hear it as the Sons of Liberty Theme, I hear it as "Previously on Assassin's Creed: The Kenway Family Saga...." *cue in sequences where we last saw of Shay/Connor/Aveline/Arno*

Marching yes, but dancing? Dem dancing skills I wonder what they may be.

AC colonial protagonists marching off to face off one another. Or perhaps united?

I think Marcin Przybyłowicz and Percival Schuttenbach would be perfect composer for making an AC-soundtrack.
This is the music style I can think of for a Thirty years war-setting(Germany & Czech Republic in 1618-1648) or for an Eastern European setting in the middle ages.

On the threads topic, I think Hans Zimmer would be a great asset for an AC-soundtrack though I prefer if he collaborates with an another composer so Zimmer and the other composer can create together a soundtrack that feels refreshing and unique for the AC-series without reusing soundtracks for example from AC2s "Ezios family".
