Ok. I am flying a simple sweep mission in an offline campaign (Thanks Extreme_One!!!). I finish off a few baddies, and start heading for home, when a spot a few French Douglas' heading my way. I have a few cannon rounds left, so I figure I will give them a go. I pick my victim, line up, and squeeze off a one second burst at the C-47's starboard engine. Boom!, the engine catches fire and falls off of the bird. The American-built transport noses up a bit, about to begin her death spiral. I grin, slide the throttle forward a tad, and decide to crawl under the crippled beast.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see some French aviators bailing out of the earth-bound transport. Wow, I have never seen them bail out from this close. I watch as one of the bailing-crewmen smacks face first into the wing of my beautiful BF109-E4!!! My wing breaks off! Now, I am spiralling to the ground. I swear, before I bailed out...I saw that French guy giving me the finger!!! I guess he wanted to be a fighter pilot, but got stuck to transports. He wanted a kill no matter WHAT the cost.

I get the last laugh though. I successfully bailed out over friendly territory. He was surely captured, and is going to have a VICIOUS head-ache tomorrow.

PS: If you want to see the action shot of me shooting down the c47, see my post on page 156 of the High Res Screenshots thread.

what campaign were you playing?

In May 1942, Nazi submarines sank two Mexican tankers, and Mexico declared war against the Axis powers. Thus forming the 201st Mexican Fighter Squadron equipped with the P-47D and sent to fight in the Pacific

Happened to me before in a YAK. The gunner of a BF110 jumped out and he made contact with my YAK just behind my cockpit, breaking the YAK in 2 pieces.
This did not stop him from safely chuting down to earth http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I don't think there is a name for it yet.

Be warned! Do not make eye contact with it.

ahh yes , the Concrete FB pilots

many planes i have lost to them & their parachutes . . . . . (mind you , the amount of rounds i have put into pilots & their parachutes more than makes up for it)

Well if a bird strike can do as much damage as it does, I'm not really surprised that an object weighing perhaps 70 - 100 times as much as a bird can rip the wings clean off a small aircraft.

I don't think I can take any credit for this one mate - I've not done a Luftwaffe campaign.

I'm not saying you'll never fly a German plane in any of my campaigns though. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It does prove that my marketing ploy works though - "think campaign - think Extreme_One" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Seriously though, the real campaign creator should get them credit they deserve.

What's the campaign called and who's it by?

In my best Ren like voice.... Ahem...

"Ye God's man... what ezze that thing??? Please... Stimpy, stop it man, make it go away... please???!!"

That is without a doubt the ugliest thing I've ever seen. It's not real, I'm sure it's someone's puss plastered on an animal's body. Of course now I have to send it to friends AND enemies so that they can get their cornea's fried like mine.

Thanks... for nuttin'

Darn. Well, I have DCG set to replace DGen, and it's called "Luftwaffe - Fighter - Western Front". I really don't know who I have to thank for it.

Thanks whoever set this up for me.

Don't get me wrong Extreme_One...you still kick a lotta a$$!!

Edit: because the filters won't let me use the word "cr@p".

I went to go look, but instead of photos all I saw were 3 small white rectangles with a red "X" in each one. All the other photos in the thread showed up fine.

If you're feeling truely malignant it is possible to blow the entire control cabin off the front of the C-47. Thus decapitated the plane limps on until gravity or something solid intervenes.

Paul Lowengrin is the guy behind DCG - he's your man. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

My only involvement in DCG was to notify Paul of the avaiability of my USAAF and RAF campaign-packs so that DCG could create US / RAF campaigns etc...
