View Full Version : Solo aerobatic track event!

Hello everyone!

I and ASA_Alex are arranging a solo-aerobatic track event! Everyone who would like to participate, will fly a 5-15min solo-airshow and send the track to us, so we can make it downloadable.

This is not a contest, only a friendly track event. We will also make a "best-of" movie from the "airshow".

Here are the rules for participating:

1. The aircraft must be a single-engine. otherwise you can choose from all of the planes in IL-2:Forgotten Battles with AEP add-on.

2. The track you send in must be .ntrk (quick track or online track) This is so we can see your skins, and if a patch comes out, it will still be viewable.

3. Only 1 plane can perform, and our aerobatic-map must be used.

4. The show should last minimum 10min, and maximum 15min. Try to stay close to the airfield. Consider it, as if it was a real solo-performance on a real airshow.

5. Timecompression is NOT allowed. We basicly have to trust you, but we can also discover it by turning manual time compression off when viewing the track. If timecompression is discovered, the track will not be made downloadable.

6. The airshow must start with a takeoff and end with a landing.

7. The airshow program is no specific, but decided by you. Your show can include any manouevre you like, and don't be afraid to do a manouevre, just because you've seen someone else do it before you.

8. Have fun. If you do not, you will be disqualified. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

9. The track should be sent to stian.angelsen@skole.bfk.no before 1. July.

10. You should use IL-2: Forgotten Battles, with or without AEP.

11. Difficulty settings must be full real, except for speedbar and external views on.

(12). Using a cool paint-scheme on your plane would be nice!

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I hope as many as possible would like to participate. Download the Aerobatic map (http://www32.brinkster.com/silvertriggers/Aerobatic_map.zip) !

When you open the map in Full mission builder, you can click on the already inserted plane, and choose the plane you prefer!

The .ntrk must be sent to stian.angelsen@skole.bfk.no

I'm very glad there was such a great interest for this! rhett69 and tsisqua, don't worry about being good enough. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Any person is welcome, skilled or rookie. I think we will learn a lot from each other, and we'll probably get some nice hours of airshows! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hairball_1, the map we will use is not very much different from a regular airfield. It only includes static cameras, some campfires at the end of each runway, and a parking lot full of cars for the visitors lol. I will send it in email to anyone who participate.

lindyman, taking a real aerobatics course... hehe, lucky you! I haven't yet started on PPL, but I only need some more hours in gliders, to start glider-aerobatics lol. Maybe this autumn.. Good luck on the course, and hope you make a track! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Check your emails! The map is sent to everyone who has contacted me. If you still miss your map, contact me again! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif By now we have 13 pilots "enlisted" to the event. Looking forward to ge those .ntrk's!

About the rules: I've thought of the difficutly setting, and I think that a lot of people use external views, so I have allowed that. I've also allowed speed bar ON.

So the difficulty settings are: Full real, except for speed bar and external views.

IL2-Chuter, hehe, I'm not a Pawnee pilot, but my glider is being towed by one everytime I'm flying http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif When I possibly get PPL in some years I will 100% do towing in the Pawnee, since it's free of cost lol.

Well, my track is sent. I had a blast this evening making that track. I flew the I-185, and fell in love with it. I thought that it flew way too easy at first, and then I tried my hand at it with the 190. Man! I didn't realize how easy the 190 rolls . . . and FAST!

LOL, I don't feel so noobish in the I-185 now http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

BuzzU, I've chosen external views since it's a very "open" event. Of course we could make a full real contest, but I wanted as many as possible to be able to participate in this event. (the lucky owners of a track-ir got a huge advantage!)

Later I will maybe make a contest for the pro's, and then the rules will be a lot stricter, as well as the pilots got to get through a standard program in addition to their own manoeuvres. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I suggest that you place them in C:/Program Files/Ubi Soft/IL2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles/Missions/Single/Then inside any of the country folders.

Now you still have a problem. The only plane that you can select now is the FW190. You will have to go to the main game screen, then click the Full Mission Builder button. When it opens, click file/load . Now browse to the mission that you just put in there. Zoom in on the map and select your airplane by clicking on it. Go back to the top, and select view object, and you will see the plane. Just select the plane that you would like to use from the list, and it will change to that. Go back to the "file" option at the top of the FMB screen, and click "save".

Good Luck, Mate. I can't wait to see your track.

In the beginning, this was only a friendly event, and it still is hehe, but if any of you want to be judged, we can make a small contest for you. I, and 2 others will then judge the tracks, so the judge's tracks cannot join the contest.

So, when you email the track, just write if you want to be judged or not. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I have an 8 minute long T-33 Track. I did some NASTY low level stuff(About 5 feet from the ground at the lowest point on some manuevers. Tried a Half Cuban 8 but did it wrong and had to roll out of it. At about 6:30 I had a problem. My Engine Flamed out. It wouldnt start. I made an emergency landing, and lost my left wheel. Whoops.

Edit: I did another one on the correct map. Much more successful. But I, uh, kinda left Icons on so there is a big fat blue YP-80 flying through the sky.

Oh, there are no fighter pilots down in hell...
Oh, there are no fighter pilots down in hell...

Hey again!

Just a reminder that 1st July is the final date to send in your tracks. 2nd July can be the absolute last chance, since I will finish the aerobatic movie with clips from all the tracks that weekend, but please notify me if you want to send it the 2nd. I will also take the time to do constructive and positive comments on all the tracks! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

If anyone got some free webspace, feel free to contact me as we need somewhere to upload all the tracks. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif (pawneepilot@hotmail.com)
