I don't know if this is the right place to start this topic, if it's not i'm sorry. :nonchalance:

I intend to buy a new laptop and run AC Unity on it.
I want to know if this will do:

Intel i7 3rd generation, 2.4 GHz (Booster 3.4 GHz)
Cache: 6 MB
Ram: 8 GB
NVIDIA® GeForce® 630M Graphics. 2 GB
(Samsung Serie 5 550P5C-AE1)

I accept suggestions. :)

First suggestion is do not buy a laptop... even expensive "Gaming" laptops are not expected to keep playing AAA games 2 years later... they might but probably not well....

Desktop systems are easy to upgrade so a better GPU or CPU can be added as can extra ram (if needed)

but if you MUST have a laptop then the 630m is far too low... Unity is HUGE and the attention to detail is incredible, and therefore requires a very decent GPU

I am assuming you are in Brazil

£660 or r$2700 (or less) would buy this Desktop but you'd need a monitor

Intel Core i5 4460 (3.2ghz Quad Core) 6mb
Asus Z97-P
8gb Kingston DDR3 1600mhz
3GB ATI Radeon R9 280x...
500gb SATA3 Hard Drive
700w Aerocool Integrator

Even cheaper if you buy an AMD CPU :D

problem is that even if you buy high end pc.. you wont be able to enjoy its whole potential.. simply cause of all optimization that Unity dont have.

In short, no. I have a laptop with similar specs, only with GeForce 730M and it's unplayable.

haha yup.

My old gaming laptop has an i7 3610qm and a 2GB Gtx660m. was decent in it's time but it has mostly been a facebook machine the last year. I tried unity on it, and the game is playable at 1600x900 instead of native 1080p, and only at minimum settings. Maintains a pretty constant 30fps, 24 fps in cutscenes. Playable, but not enjoyable....not like my desktop with GTX980 anyways.

Anyways...what I'm getting at is my old 660m laptop is relatively low-spec nowadays, though it was a decent mid-high range laptop in it's time. The 660m makes a 730m seem like it's powered by a snail...so take that for what it's worth...a 730m won't play much of anything. Save your money, head over to xoticpc.com and order a proper gaming laptop if you really want one. I suggest only MSi or Clevo/sager laptops. Alienware is a pathetic joke, and im simply not a fan of ASUS laptops.

I can get away with playing Telltale games on mine (Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, etc) but to avoid all frustration I don't even attempt to load these kinds of [heavy AAA] games on laptops.

Go the desktop route!
