My 2 cents,

The patch for me is completely satisfactory. The only very minor issue I have is with the "windmilling" propellors which seem to generate another perceived problem . . .the apparent inability to throttle back in flight (from the sound point of view) on certain aircraft.

The sound seems to be linked to the propellor R.P.M. which is linked to the airspeed of the plane. Even when you pull the throttle to zero, the prop continues to "windmill" at an R.P.M associated with the current airspeed and the engine sound seems locked to this R.P.M. You can test this by pulling the throttle to zero, then pull up in a gentle climb to bleed off airspeed and you'll notice a reduction in prop R.P.M with corresponding reduction in diminishing engine sound down to idle. You can even shut down the engine and it will continue to "windmill" with an associated engine sound like it's still running. I would like to shut down the engine in flight and see the prop stopped at low airspeeds!! Surely the compresion associated with these 1000 hp+ engines would prevent "windmilling" propellors. Thats it . . .my only complaint . . I love the patch so far ... I give it a 2!! Thanks Oleg!!!

The props on B-17's windmilled. It has nothing to do with horsepower. Higher horsepower engines have bigger and heavier props, so yes, they windmill. Maybe not to the extent they windmill in FB, but they do, you'd be surprised at how much.

No, I have no idea of the true mindmilling properties of any engine/prop combo, but its more than you would think.

i was happy with the game when it came outhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif the only prob i had was with the P-47 roll rate (and only cause it was way off) i dont care if the planes are 100% as long as the relative performance is close and for the most part it seams good to me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif im happy

P.S. find a better WW2 sim and ill switch....but good luckhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
