My only concern is having the mini map in the town screen. Did anyone else notice that? It is useless being there. What would be nicer is a larger widget / box in that place that allows for the creation of automatic unit recruit/building. Example: resource depending - I want town to automatically recruit tier 1, 2, 3 on first day of week, and 6, 7 on third day of week. As well as building tavern day 1, market place day 2, magic guild day 3 .....

Agree, I can't see the point of the mini map being a part of the town screen at all. Same goes for having move, hero information and the spell book.
Automatic creature recruiting could be interesting, I think buildings might work better on a queue though?

Started up playing VI again, and minimap is in town there as well. It helps to remind you where the current town is I guess....

A bit of automation and/or a building queue would be a bit of a timesaver.
