The FB quick reference card includes a user-definable control called: Toggle Mirrors Show/Mode and a screen cap from the latest Aces development update shows a spifire cockpit with working rearview mirror.

Question: is rearview mirror functionality available in FB already? Will it be part of Aces? I can't get it to work in FB.

Any help appreciated.

It IS available in the Hurris as well. I really like the idea and use it on rare occassions. As Wolf4ever said, it chews up lots O' frames so onlt toggle when needed and/or have a stout machine with gobs of RAM.

I use the mirror , and it does just fine.. helps alot.. and I don't have any problem with Fps.. The only time on my system I can see a fps lag is when all are on the runway getting ready to take off.

When you learn to use the mirror it will save your life and help you make the right turn at the right time.

You also have to look up, it is not in the cockpit field of view. It still kills frame rates even if you can't see it.

Guenther Rall, JG52: "We mounted a small mirror on the instrument panel (109 G-2), but the vibration made it useless. By the time you could see an enemy plane, it was time to bailout."

Actually, they work better in FB. If you've applied distance icons, it lets you know how long you have to bailout.

It's the only thing!

I'm surprised the game doesn't give option for one on Mustang. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

Did you assign a key in the ingame Control menu? I assigned the 'Q' key to toggle it. Once you do that, hit shift F1 for the alternate cockpit view,
Works fine here.

Yes, the Hurri's do have mirrors and they are very useful for watching flames stream out of your plane.
