Hi all,

Have just installed Il2FB again and gave it a blast and I must say it runs better than IL2FB AEP. I laoded a mission, a dogfight really, 16v16 and it ran so smooth, not a stutters in site, beautifull. I know there was an issue with the sound in FB with machine gun fire when no one was firing or the AA sounding very close to you when in fact it was a few Kilometers away but the game ran so smooth.

The other thing I have noticed on AEP was the amount of crashes or freezes I have had which I never had before I have come to the conclusion that AEP is not that stable. There seems to be a lot of people with freezes and crashes just see the 'community help' page.

This is not a whinge or a moan in any way just an observation I just love this game I have'nt stopped flying since I purchased the sim (ask my girlfriend)I even purchased a PC just for this sim, previous computers was always Apple Macs.

I just hope that in the 'patch' the stutter issue will be corrected, if they can get it to run smooth in IL2FB then I'm sure they can get AEP to run smooth to.

The team seem to get one problem solved and create another we have better sound now but we also have stutters.

Anyone else got any comments?

Well, I must say that AEP works very smooth for me. Ive had no big issues with it. However I really miss the dedicated server...

And I hardly play AEP at all any longer.
Waiting for the dedicated server....

But its ok, then I can focus on other things instead.. Doing my laundry and other important and stimulating stuff!

Works smooth here. Try Windows XP.

Hi Lex,

I'm running XP with a AMD 1800+ processor on an Abit board with 2gig of ram an Audigy 1 card and Nvidai GF4600 card. The graphics are fine its just the stutters I get when the AI shout warning or return answers. I never had the stutters for the first 2weeks or so of having AEP on the PC then over night I had the stutters, even reformatted the drive and still no good!

I know the PC could do with an upgarde but I'm sure it still has some life in it yet.

It sounds like you have a SOUND issue. I would take a look at the sound settings and drop them down and see what that does.

Hi Scen
Believe me, I have tried everything to remove this stutter and reducing the sound to standard does not cure the problem.

Indianer,
If I remember correctly there is a line in the confi file, found it, look for

trackIRUse=1

replace zero with one that should do the trick.

If not start a seperate Message someone will help.

Did you try setting hardware acceleration lower under Control Panel - Sounds and Audio devices ?
Switching off "Enable extensions" could also do the trick ...

Yes I have lowered sound in the control panel still no luck, if I turn off 'enable extensions' the sound does not sound very clear or 'punchy'. Will DL patch and play with sound some more.

Wish me luck!
