I am giving the the offline campaign a try again (played it before and trahsed il2 fe/aep but I am kind of desperate now http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif, not many alternatives)

needed to know a few things (the manual sucks)
1: can the war be influenced in the offline campaigns? the manual says that it can be in online campaign.

2: Does destroying ground troops have any impact at all? or am I waisting my time straffing them in a bf109? (for offline campaings)

3: In another thread on 'how to enable new planes in campaigns' are mentioned files with camapaign names in which are listed the particpating planes and their numbers. So does each new map that load as the campaign progresses start with its own set of planes with their preset numbers? or does attrition carry over from map to map?

4: manual describes two types of online campaigns - hostorical and host choice. Unfortunately i think there arent too many pre-made examples of online campagins with the game! I dont have the bandwith to play just wondering what people play and how do they find it? is dcg popular too?

I tried dcg for offline gaming, 1st the game fails to load the next map as the campagin progresses and 2nd I wipe out the opposing forces (in air) in 2 days! some times 3 no matter which side I play. When AEP came out I remember reading that the AI now will try and bug out if outnumbered or damaged. Dont see it happed. Infact once the squads are reduced to 2-3 planes we have 1,2 or 3 aircrafts charge my 8-16 me109 and get hozed. (I play with full real, full squads, 2 filghts per swaud settings)

so much for now, will trouble you nice folks again when I have more questions http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The campaign is semi-dynamic. You cannot change the outcome of the war but you can change what units are present on the particular map you are on. For example, if you destroy all the AAA at an enemy airbase, there will be no AAA defense at that base for the next 3 or 4 missions. The result is this makes return trips to that base much safer. This also applies to aircraft, if you shoot down a bunch of rare planes then you are unlikely to ever see that plane type again on the map. Bridges work the same way, once they are knocked out they do not get repaired for atleast 3 missions. This however does not apply to convoys and trains. Trains, convoys, artillerly positions and so forth are considered targets of oppertunity and so they respawn after each mission. But they do still contribute to you getting awards. All this only applies on the map you are currently playing on though, none of it carries over to the next map. The end result is you can make your life and the lives of your AI buddies easier on a map by destroying certain enemy units but you cannot effect the overall results.

I build COOPs and DF maps. If you would like some of them you can get them atmy COOP page (http://www14.brinkster.com/triggerhappy770/default.htm)

I/JG1 Oesau is recruiting axis pilots who prefer to fly maximum realism. We accept both veterans and rookies. We fly in VEF2, VOW and may join other online wars in the future. Go to our forums at http://www.jg1-oesau.org/ for more details and to apply.

Keep in mind that you can play the host choice online campaigns by yourself. These campaigns are heavily influenced by the player's actions. With only 1 human the influence will be less than with more than one. Just start a multiplay session and launch a campaign. FYI: You can't accelerate time in multiplay so pick a campaign on a small map. If you have BOE use a campaign on the Ardennes map.

thxs for the response fellows. I thought the host choice campaigns were like the QMB, you choose the forces on both sides? getting to know and choose your opposition before every mission kind of takes out the immersion for me.
I take it even in host choice the impact of an action is limited to a single map? what I am wondering is if there is any continuity between the maps at all? or its simply playing different maps in progression with no relation what so ever between them.
