    I've got a P4 2.4 Northwood 512 that doesn't support hyperthreading- mobo does.
I've got it clocked to 2.8 forever.
I want to get in the next day or two a new cpu, I'm thinking 150ish bucks. Whats the hot setup for that range? Theres a 2.4 GHz ( 533 MHz ) - L2 1 MB avail, . Larger cache- better gaming?
Or how much of a bump to need to "see" the difference?
    thanks

    Hi Hawgdog

First, please check your mobo support for Prescott type cpu's.
Second, better save your money for bigger type of bang/cpu speed/more components upgrade.
    Third,others know better than me.

    Cheers

Hunter82 can give you the solid gold answer to that question. He has real experience with the chips as it related to this game. I only look at the reviews which I always find suspect because they rarely take this game, much less any flight simulation game into consideration. However, I can tell you that you will not get as much of a jump going from 512 KB of cache to 1 MB. How much less of a jump? Well, that's why I say wait until we can beat an answer out of Hunter82! Of course, be prepared to deal with paying more attention to heating issues should you decide on the 1 MB cache chips.
