Does any1 have a tip for me on how to engage F15's armed with AIM-120's and me with R-27ER... they can shoot fre and forget while i gotta maintain the lock for my R-27ER's. I always go down in scrapmetal in a Semiactive vs Active radar BVR engagement

    any tips?

You could try carrying R-27AEs and ETs instead.

Or, try to out-range him. Make your missiles fly longer. Go faster and higher before you launch.

Then, just after launch, throttle back, speedbrake out and loose as much speed as you dare.

Point nose down and as far away from the target as you can. (Look at the triangle indicating scan cone position on the MFD, put it all the way to one side)

Then he will have to fly directly at you for a longer period of time to support his lock until active, increasing the chances he will break off / take a hit.
